I think it's a good setup, but I can't say overpowered

The serve and power is bad but great speed, endurance and great strokes plus with Smell of Blood a very good ability

A lot of speed helps in my opinion

Yeah I played you today...:)

I don't think your setup is overpowered, just very tough to beat as it has no weaknesses. Your weaker wing 77 FH is almost stronger than my strong wing 79 FH. It's not a sim setup, but this isn't the sim tour so it's fair even though it's hard to get any UEs from you since both your wings are so strong. I made a balanced guy (3 SV/10 OB/7 DB) bc I like to play sim, but to answer the question...no it's not overpowered, just very powerful and very tough to defeat.

Maybe on a faster surface I will beat you...;) But the match was close 6-2, 6-4. Maybe if I'd gotten that break in the last game it would have been interesting. But you play a good game.

It looks to me that a good All rounder with Good serve and decent volley should be a good counter to this setup.

Fatality is also a very useful skill when playing fast players. As well as any skill with passing shot sniper.

On my serve I would serve with kick or slice, so not to give pace to the opponent that cannot generate pace (55 power) then follow up with a good deep approach shot and hit the net.

On his serve, I would return to mid court deep, to cut down the angles. I would stay away from Power shots unless I know it will be a winner or a hard reach. Just use control shots. Since the power is low, the last thing you want is give to him, so he could simply "tap control" you out of the court. Keep the ball deep with control flat shots, when you get the short ball - mix net approaches and drop shots.

Trying to beat such setup from the baseline, mindlessly hitting hard shot after hard shot is simply not going to work. You will be playing to the hands of the user.

Willjonesjr: Why have I put a point in s&v?
It's my second setup. The first one was also defensive but I made it on the go... i had only two o r three gold coaches. So i made this one but i didn't really thought about it, Honestly. ^^

I consider myself a "noob" and I'm here to progress and have fun, but not despite the fun of others. That's why I'm asking you guys ;)

All: Thanks for your inputs.

Dsavbeast :
Thanks for your comment. Your gaming style surprised me and it was difficult to adapt my game to it ;)
I had a lot of fun playing you. I said plenty of :"wow well done !" Behind my screen.^^
But i desagree when you say it as no weaknesses : lacks power, weak serve, and the speed is sometimes a weakness : how many time did you wrong footed me ? :D

What should be a "sim" defensive setup ?

Djarvik :
What an insightfull post, thanks!
In fact, I've found out the "power" of flat control shot few days ago...
You seem to be a very good tactician :)
I'm gonna have a hard time if my opponent read you... :D

Like I said, I don't think your style is 'overpowered', per se, but +75 off both wings and 97 FH is still tough, even though your power isn't that high. Still, it was a fair matchup and I thought I was figuring you out there at the end. And as far as no weaknesses, you did have basically 0 UEs the whole match ;).

Combination of good timing and your good defensive stats I guess...but a fair matchup and I didn't feel like I had no chance of winning. I guess you are balanced since your serve and power aren't that much, and I wasn't having problems w/ your serve, just was a bad returning day.

And thanks for the compliments on my game - it was a fun match even though I lost, but like I said, all round is the way I try to play, even though I know I'm not the best volleyer :P. We shall meet again hopefully...:)

Ok, i understand what you mean and i agree with you :)
Concerning ue, it was a "good timing day" and I used very few power shots ... I think you were on the edge of finding a killing tactic against me ;)

By the way, could you, sim players , tell me
What should be a defensive sim player ?

Well I'd think it was ridiculous if they made those the stats for one of the pros, but since I guess these characters are there for you to make, there's nothing wrong with it...I dunno how somebody could have a near perfect forehand and still have 55 in power though, that makes no sense

Why ?

What is your setup ?

It's the only setup I can, almost, compete TI/MD short crossed top spin stuff with.

What do you think about setups with 96 pow, 80+ forehand and 70+ backhand ?

I don't think I'm a too bad player and I'm still loosing so I don't know if we should say it's overpowered.

Jaylove => I think a 97 forehand means that the forehand is very reliable and precise even if the power is weak. These are, in my opinion, two distinct stats but I can be wrong :)

What kind of setup are you playing with Jaylove?

Anyway if you say this is overpowered I'm fine with changing my setup :P
