Most Valuable Defensive Skill

Postby PCFitnessDotNet » Fri, 27 May 2011 01:35

Lately I've been enjoying playing with a 7-6-7 player setup. He feels like a well balanced player, most of you know what I mean. If he has to bang back and forth, not a problem, if he has to volley, he can hold his own, if he needs to chase down everything because his opponent has 100 power and 80 fh,bh, he can...

The guys who play with 90+ on power, try my setup for a few weeks, it's actually fun. Unlock a few coaches and get back to me. This setup forces you to become more creative on the court.

So which is your favorite defensive skill and why?

The poll is up, so go experiment then vote!

poisioned slices, top spin invasion and monster defense shouldnt be on this poll if its ITST related. Where is highly flammable? I voted reach swings expert. I notice a huge difference.

Shot Counter should be there too, and I'd say it's the best defensive skill because, well..... it's used to counter powerful shots. And imo, Wrong Foot Expert is more offensive - but I guess I could see it being used defensively.

Highly Flammable... since it's only useful when you are basically dominating, I'd call that offensive as well.

Why should Highly Flammable be on the defensive list? Give me a scenario.

Shot Counter, I'm thinking Shot Counter turns defense into offense. No?

Indeed, those skills sound great for a defensive player. However, the coach who comes with these skills, Madr, gives you no speed boost so the max speed you can have with these skills is only 68 which is low for a defensive player :(

You need to be level 20 in Defense which gives you 85 speed, then pick Slavina as your coach to get +15 speed which gives you 100 :)
I wouldn't really recommend this setup though as you would have only around 50 in power. How did your opponent play?

That was my "pre-TI/MD" setup. The 50 power actually does not pose a big problem. With everything on defense, the best way to play is not with power shots, but control shots, unless yu're certain you can hit a winner:)

The 100 speed is wonderful, cause you can practically reach every ball. Sometimes my playes goes way back, and isnt even visible anymore....and all of a sudden you see the ball coming back..100 speed is great. Practicing with it again:)

You could try and not press them at all instead! That way you can give them the one point they really wish for!
