Wow I saved a match point last night by winning an 85 shot rally

Yeah, man.

I really thought it might never end....even though I won the rally it's really quite f**king stupid that it's even possible to have an 85 shot rally.

Having an 85 shot rally is easy, even in real life. What's hard is having an 85 shot rally when both players are looking to win the point in less than that and going for their shots. Match point... obviously you were both playing conservatively.

were you taking risks during the rally ?
Never underestimate the pain of a person, because in all honesty, everyone is struggling. Some people are just better at hiding it than others.

I guess I was playing conservatively...I just made up my mind that I was going to get to every single ball no matter what.

I was pretty gutted to lose the next 2 points but I was playing against a pretty good Roddick player, and he just blasted 2 huge serves for 2 easy points in a row.

He was definitely the best player I've played yet, at least from the baseline.

Not unless you are crap

I bet if the pro's decided that they weren't going to take ANY risks during the rallies, they could be hitting the ball back and forth over 100 times. I know for a fact my friends played a fh/fh rally in table tennis and got to about 2500/300 just trying to rally, so I don't think it's impossible to get a number like that in tennis either.

BTW the guy with whom I had the 85 shot rally was 'DW Lancill8' or some crazy sh*t like that.

Good player, I thought...I haven't experienced power like that from the baseline from anybody else...he was using Roddick so I guess that explains some of it. He also just obviously has really good timing cuz he was friggin CRANKING some of the groundstrokes. quite laggy but he is in Italy so you kind of expect that.

Also, the one break point I think I had in the match, MY CONTROLLER TURNED OFF (it was running out of batteries) and I couldn't get it back on in time

That was in the 1st set...I think if I had won that point I easily would have gone on to win the match but that's just me :P Instead I lost 3-4, 0-3.

Wow now that I think about it, I think that's the first time I've lost a set 3-0.
