And the "perfect" dropshot that lands in the net :?

Great post from djarvik and I completely agree. It is the lack of control over my player that is probably the hardest to get used to. At least in ts3, win or lose, I could play the way that I wanted to.

Completely agree - sold TS4 after playing it for about a week, played some TS3 since....waaaay harder (TS3), sure - but with that price-tag comes variety and depth of onlilne play that simply doesn't and, for my money, can't exist in TS4, given the restrictions in skill-distribution. A damn shame.

I always feel like the counter punchers are the most powerful in the game. It is like impossible to hit a good clean down the line shot with a power baseliner. Power means nothing in this game and I'm sorry but that is just not realistic. I'm not even a power player and I miss the power. Control shot my ass. If anything, they've taken away the control.

yes the down the line shot is just not there. You get into these crosscourt battles and the first one to go down the line loses basically.

I was new to TS and ITST, but when I was strolling through my gaestop i saw TS3 for 10 bucks. Remembering all of you praising it, I got it, and WOW! TS4 cant even compare!!! It is the BEST TEnnis Game ever, hands down! You wont believe this, but after an hour of playing.....i can still hit errors!!!

If anything, I think for the newbies TS4 is sort of like a bridge to TS3. I feel like there are some basics that TS3 doesn't teach you that TS4 does. I think all of the new players who have TS4 and like it but never tried TS3 should give the latter a try. It's like riding a bike with no training wheels!!! :D As I recall, one of the biggest complaints of TS3 was that TS3 didn't teach you very well. TS3 is like TS4 on acid!!!!

(I haven't got TS3, played just the demo so..)

I think you have to get a little bit used to this game, at the free gold weekend I thought I can't improve as I got many times shut down easily after some shots were the player wouldn't like to move or just made it too easy (like running too early and getting wrong footed) but I think if I would have now a better chance when I would have got Gold

Especially against me.

Also, I don't seem to be having as much trouble as people are saying hitting down the line. :? Only time its particularly difficult to hit a precise shot down the line is off serve...
