I defeated a TI/MS setup today in one of my matches with my Safin. Shan't post his stats though, you'll play him when you do. :P

EDIT: Not that I'm saying I'm good or anything. Cause I feel I'm not. Can still improve(no offence to me defeated opponent).

For not giving in to the wall of distrust. Start the SIM Tour, ban the evil coaches, whatever. To each his own.

I still think, many people on here have the "If you can't beat it right away, ban it" mentality and/or just want to be different.

There are complaits about drop shots, returns, serves, power, skills etc all over this board.
Thing is: this game is nothing like real tennis. You can't just press a button and with good timing play a perfect ball all the time. You can try to play the game as if it was real tennis and probably be kind of successful, but if you encounter a "gamer" that doesn't bother whether or not a shot is realistic or not, you'll probably still lose if he is on the same skill level.

And here is where 2 minds don't get along. Thats why there should be a separate SIM Tour. I'm just sick of having to justify myself for playing a game with the best stuff it has to offer. Its not going to change the best way to play the game, its just lowering the stats a bit. Why would anyone want that as a "gamer"? Its like voluntarily using a second rate team in FIFA, when you can use FC Barcelona or Manchester United. You get what I want to say? If not maybe I don't belong here then, I don't know.

I don't want to offend anybody, it's just my opinion on this topic.

Have you looked around the site?

Did you notice any other games being hosted other then tennis?

Have you noticed we follow the real ATP/WTA schedule?

Why do you think that is?

When you answer these question - you will understand all the "bitching" on the boards.

Most people here "try" to resemble tennis because they are not only gaming fans but they are fans of tennis, as a sport. Most "try" and play it like a real thing and try to visualize their career. It is a Fantasy league. There is no prizes to be won.

So of course people will call out anything that doesn't look real. I know, it is silly. But nevertheless, I know I play not only to win (we all do that) but also to participate in a tour, to be a part of "experience". I know all the "gaming" tricks, there is nothing to them, not complicated to learn "the most efficient way". But it takes a different type of player, to actually try and play the game as "tennis". Granted, not always possible, but at least try. Not everyone's cup of tea, I understand. Especially for a "gamer" as you mentioned.

At the end of the day, this debate will never end. If for nothing else, I hope they reduce the effectiveness of this setup and level it out with a few other strong setups. There is something terribly wrong when you see a game with so many options being locked in on one type of character.

BTW you haven't been here long enough, yet you throw statements like this:

I still think, many people on here have the "If you can't beat it right away, ban it" mentality and/or just want to be different.

I don't think its cool to pass judgments like that. You free to think what you want, but, granted, some may come from that angle, but I assure you, the ones that are more vocal on the forums are coming from a complete different direction.

I understand what you are saying, yet all I and many other non "SIM" gamers on this site want is, that since this is a competitive gaming site (that's what I was told at least) everyone is free to do what he thinks is best.
The reason I registered here was to compete against the best players in the game, nothing more. I thought normal WT was free for all styles, while a separate SIM tour would encourage a different approach

Why not make SIM tour without any (gold) coaches? That way nobody can feel cheated by anything. Stats are low, so that you'll be forced to have a weak side and unforced errors happen more often, and special skills won't win the game for you, so that real tennis tactics are more useful.

I won't say anything more about this topic, I think you get what I mean as well as I get your point. I really hope things settle down soon enough, so that everyone can play the game the way he wants.

Crota for President! - but seriously I second everything you said.. now I guess thats is the main difference and why there needs to be a 'Sim' tour and a Regular tour. I know everything in this game is counterable which to me means its not cheesy but for others its annoying ..ok.. they want their sim tour.

We've seen people complain about :

1) Serve power

then

2) Topspin..

now onto

3)Slice

and

4)Slice outwide - watch: 2:32, 3:16, 4:43

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rwB1bgq5HKA

I really feel those who want all of these things changed need to go onto the 'Sim' tour as stated by Crota and then we can all get what we want -

Oh and I also want to say.. What I think needs to be fixed is the Serve and Volley players.. they are abit weak compared with others IMO : Improve S&V don't weaken everything else.

Stop with spinner

Postby supermassy831 » Wed, 18 May 2011 09:19

the only way to play in a balanced way is eliminate the coach and fix player with max 80 in one voice and 75 all the rest.

What do you think about it?

Answer answer!

P.S. So goodbye to OUIMR BERSON, BKRISTIAN, TOPHEE150175 etc etc!!!

Please don't tell me you actually believe this. The top players will be the top players no matter what the rules are..

Also...75 in every stat??

You don't understand! no 75 in every stats but max 75 in every stats except 80 in only one (ever max).

Top players...? i beated bkristian with power 100 but this is not tennis! In this way is arcade game and if you want an arcade game play to virtua tennis. See all players play like robot with regular deep ball on the line and diagonal close cross is no sense.

Now do you understand?
