I feel quit hard done by this morning.I completly restored my computer back to factory settings to sort out my on line top spin play.I got it working ok.Then when tournament comes up i get crashed out of game after 1 game. This has never happened before. My main point is i cant see the pc version of top spin online play getting any better. This is because its getting increasingly harder to get the ORIGINAL top spin VERSION and not BEST OF ATARI.Atari will not help at all.QIUCK TO SELL PRODUCTS.But aint so willing on support!!I was about to make a donation to itst but makes this gesture to itst impossible now.It seems that as soon as i say hello at game launch.Opponents reply is"Oh,I hear you have real problems connecting and its very laggy".There take on it is if there is a problem it must be me.This is so unfair.DONT WE ALL HAVE CONNECTION AND LAG PROBLEMS FROM TIME TO TIME????????Thats the nature of online gaming!!YOU CAN SOLVE IT by saying"You can only play on the tour if every body goes out and buys the exact same computer, the exact same interenet connection, the exact same virus protection, the exact same computer set up,the exact same, the exact same e.c.t....Do i need to go on?? You see my point i think. Not everybody has the same set-up!!!That will never happen untill we are all clones in this world!!!!!and probly robots ourselfs :lol:There are a select few on the tour(not mentioning any names) that forget they were once NOOBS thereselves. After all i done to solve the problem.I was really looking forward to playing on the tour.Would have a lot of time to give aswell. But it looks like my career is over before its started!!! :( Any suggestions would be helpfull :?: I feel really sorry for the newbies that come to play on this tour especially when they come up against the impatient players who think that they should be exclusive and treated as so ie.if there is problems it must be you so as its your problems i should claim the game. Its simple bullying into you throwing the game. This seems fair i must say :( Thankyou for taking time out to read this message.....Yours...Coomer :(

Hello,

I hear your concerns. Hamachi is the way. I have found that out due too the many doubles team that I have recruited. They cannot seem to start the game with GameSpy one day after we have just played an excellent game on prior days (crazy, :?).

Therefore, I instruct them to join my server and try out singles and doubles (IF THEY HAVE A HUMAN PLAYER).

Hamachi works ALL OF THE TIME (I tell each person to DISABLE ANTILIASING IN THE DISPLAY OPTION and TOO LOWER THEIR RESOLUTION TO 800 x 600). If you ask any random player that I have played with on the doubles' list, "How was the connection with Q. Reese and the ease of starting the game?" You will definitely have positives answers.

I am aware of ITST's rule (Rule 13 to be exact): "All matches must be played through Gamespy."

However, there times when the tournament host are kind to "Best of Atari" users. For example, I will never forget PahelWaske's kindness when it came to allowing one of his registered "Best of Atari" tournament player to play against his opponent (UPON THE OPPONENT'S PERMISSION AND DESIRE).

Please review the support material here:
http://www.intertopspintour.com/forum/v ... php?t=4207

Therefore, I do not think you have to retire, :(. IF I AM NOT MISTAKEN, I believe that I understood that IF YOUR OPPONENT AGREES TO using Hamachi to play a match, then the tournament host are okay with it. However, ALL MEMBERS ARE PROTECTED AGAINST HAMACHI IF THEY SO CHOSE TO BE (Rule 13).

Just remember to inform your opponents once the tournament draw is made (I would immediately contact the opponent and notify the tournament host of the agreed arrangement, if any. For if there were to be a disagreement there will be no need to notify the host [Rule 13]).

I hope that this has help,

Thanks for reply. But still doomed. We have to rely on every opponent in every tournament in every round to agree to using hamachi.Maybe then the poll should be a new one."What are the chances of a "best of atari pc player"Reaching a top ranking or even winning a tournament!!Can you instruct me a little on my ask in previous message about using hamach for both players. Thanks again

Hello,

This is what I tell my singles and doubles Best of Atari or original Top Spin users to do.

I tell them to disable antialiasing (Top Spin's launcher, display, uncheck the second box) and put their resolution down to 800x 600.

Whoever has the fastest connection speed should be the host; so, in my case, it is me (it is always good to ask your members of Hamachi, "Was the connection fast on your side as in my case?" Then, there will be no room for any biases! :)).

This makes a extremely perfect connection for all who have played singles an doulbes with me on my servers.

All you have to do is start up a server, and ask your respective opponent to join that server via Hamachi.

Once you do this, please:

Run Top Spin, Go to Mulitplayer, LAN, Singles/Doubles, Male/Female, then create game.

The person who is joining the game, must refresh his or her Top Spin server (I do this be going back and forth between the "Create/Join game screen and the type of match screen [males, females, etc.]").

That is how I run my 33 doubles members and 6 "Best of Atari" users.

You have asked me how I do this for both players. In my opinion, this is the best way for us to do it. It is working for all 39 members on my 3 Hamachi servers.

I hope that this has helped, :D

@ Coomer

The same right you wish for yourself, I could claim for myself. As you said the world is different and not everybody has the same equipment.

I'm still running Win98 and hamachi won't support this operation system anymore. Shall I spend about 100 bucks in order to gurantee that I can play against hamachi users?

The problem isn't gamespy, different operating systems, graphic cards or motherboards... Atari is to blame for releasing an incompatible version. You should complain there about that problems.

Yes i do agree totally with your point.NO we shouldnt have to buy extra equptment. If you have a look at my first post. You will see i have a big dig at atari. They should code a game properly to play online.Or at least stae that a certain version isnt playable online. They would never do that.It would mean being straight with customers and that would cost them sales. So i agree with you ITS ATARI TO BLAME.Well so i cant be seen to be unfair.THERE PC VERSION ANYWAY.But you try getting help from them on this subject. They must be sick and tired of the amount of people complaing about it.
