E.S.T trying to play C.E.T.

I am new to all of this so please be gentle in flaming me.

I have 2 matches that I need to play this week with guys in the C.E.T zone. I am in E.S.T zone.

I have received different answers from them trying to arrange a time to play. One says he is +9 hours and the other -7 hours. From what I can tell, C.E.T is 6 hours ahead, correct?

12:00 EST = 16:00 CET

Is this correct?

It looks like i'm going to have to skip a little work to get these matches in, which is fine, but I want to make sure we have our times correct so i'm not out of the office longer than I need to be.

Both, you and them, must arrange in CET time.

I'm in the PST.. Basically I have to stay up late and my opponent usually wakes up early. For weekday matches, anyway.

i am noticing a few mainland europeans getting confused about CET. Currently france etc are on CET+1 hour. They keep thinking that they are on CET all year round which is not the case.
