PSN Down.

Postby ItaStallion » Thu, 21 Apr 2011 19:25

Just wondering if all the tournament hosts would like to extend there times for their matches.

PSN has been down for half a day and is not expected online anytime soon.

Also apparently these are the new servers for PS3? Don't think PSN has ever been down this long.

I've heard it's down because of an "outside attack" although it has been having a lot of downtime recently.

Yes, the hosts will grant a one day extention if needed.

Guys, if you need an extention, make sure you ask the host for it. Not all host may be aware of the outage.

I think the first downtime a couple of weeks ago was down to Anonymous. Afterwards they basically apologised for interfering with the PSN cos it just ends up screwing up the people (Sony customers) they're supposed to be fighting for. This one apparently has nothing to do with them. Anyway, Sony says it'll be down for a day or two so I think there will be extensions needed.

Right, but at least now it's not saying the error message, but saying Playstation Network is undergoing maintenance.

That's just Sony trying to reassure players, which I think is actually not that comforting. The fact that they need to change the status to try and calm people down, that seems to imply that this is a serious problem that might take a lot of work and a lot of time to sort out. If they had it figured out already, they wouldn't bother changing the status and just fix it and bring it back online in a few hours.

They're also not being very forthcoming about anything. Just throwing out half suggestions/accusations about hackers to distract us all whilst not really updating their status about how the repairs are going along.

Interesting angle Tiger... and true as well... but I guess for me, I don't really worry about it because it's not like 360 where we pay for online time or what have you. It IS frustrating that we can't get online and all, but idk I guess eventually they'll get it together.

More info would be nice though I agree. It's only speculations and "I heard this or that"

Sony needs to be direct and tell us what's going on.

U think they're on strike or something?? it seems to be the new thing now-a-days...

Hello guys, please let your tournament hosts if you still have your PSN down, if that's the case they will give you some extra days to play your matches.

Thanks
