Same thing for me also of course. But the patch didn't really changed the timing.
The thing is that now, you can't serve the lines with full power. You still can hit them but in order to, you can't charge the power until max as before.

So basically, you can now either serve heavy and strong either with accuracy in the corners and the lines.

Honestly guys, at heart im a serve and volleyer, but I just could not make it work for me. I keep trying and failing. Please, can someone who is good at this (like rob) tell me how to do this? I do not want to be another cookie cutter MD/TI player, plz tell me what stats to create the best SandV player, and how to use it??!! THX, and if it works I will be a loyal member!

What are you failing at, specifically? What console are you on Xbox or ps3?

Pretty much everything, but the footwork (RB stops me in no mans land) and return games are worst. Also, wat are the best stats/coaches for S and V? what do you/others use?

360 here

Hmm I have the same problem with RB at times...not always though, like almost everything else f**ked up in this game, it seems to happen when it's really laggy.

There's not really anything you can do about that.

I don't know much about stats/coaches, I mostly play 2K open with Rafter, Agassi and Davydenko mostly.

Practicing serve and volley against the computer on Expert is a good idea...it will at least help you get a better handle on the mechanics of everything. You've probably already done that a lot though so I'm just talking nonsense probably

Hmm, i think maybe you might be holding RB a little too long. sometimes by holding it too long or too little hinders your net approach.

Yeah I think you're right. To be honest I think I've just been holding down RB the entire time

It helps with getting to low volleys close to the net but I think it's completely screwing me otherwise

I'm still relatively successful online with Rafter but there are some balls that I know I should be hitting more solid volleys on...instead my guy is lunging for them and doing the little 'turn-around' animation where you're kinda stuck there for a second, unable to cover the coming pass. Very annoying.

Not tap, hold until you see your players momentum going forward just before you strike the ball and release. It takes some practice to get the best timing though, just practice with it :) Dont give in to those offense baseliner noobs. They're just attackers without the balls to come to the net

My Sv player has the stats

FH 63
BH 46
SRV 97
VOL 86
POW 54
STA 52
SPE 60
REF 87

With volley shot artist and monster defence skills.
