Got Virtua tennis 4 Demo : My impressions!

Postby AndyMurray ITST » Wed, 13 Apr 2011 19:42

Hi, I got Virtua Tennis 4 demo from the playstation store today ( with Playstation Plus) and ive been playing for the last hour:-

What a shocker! Top spin 4 has nothing to worry about. The game is incredibly poor in so many ways. i was looking forward to this game aswell and am really disappointed. The graphics look like Ps2 quality, and no where near as good as VT3 years ago, which i find really odd.

The sound is absolutely awful, the sound effects of the ball sound wrong and everything sounds very muffled.

The gameplay is So much worse than VT3. I liked Vt3 and i hated VT2009 and this is worse still! The player feels like he is floating across the court, the ball feels as though it is made of cotton wool, and sounds like it too!
Here's a video of the demo:-

The menus look really cheap (cheaper than Smash Court 3!) and overall I have to say Im really shocked by what has happened to this series!

The demo didnt include the PsMove part so i cant comment on that, but if gameplay is boring with a controller i cant see how this can get better.

cheers for your impressions.....

hmmm i was looking forward to it as well played the beta last year at E3 and looked like it was on the right track but i guess not.

Will have to try it myself to make up my mind.

P.S. Your topic title is extremely misleading.

I think its only available now if u have PlayStation store plus, which is not free.

Its should become available on the normal free psn store pretty soon.

Yeah I agree, making it simple as previous games would of been so much better.

Saying that the demo was a little better than I expected, but still it's bad, will probably just buy this to have a tennis game on the PS3 to play online and well Del Potro's in it so :D

They said there were 2 demos being released, so I assume next week we'll get a demo showing off the exhibition mode or something?

Was the demo some sort of joke or something? It was horrible!

What is up with these new tennis games being devolved versions of the previous iteration?
