How do you return serve?

Postby nc72689 » Wed, 23 Mar 2011 21:30

I have a hard time beating huge servers with very powerful shots.

I've seen people able to return 130+ mph serves with ease.

Getting perfect timing on the serves is not good enough, there has to be more than that.

Anyone got tips on how to be a good returner?

I can hit some good topspin return but they are not putting me in a good position to get the hand of the rally so i'd like to know as well... I tried to tap, to hold before serve, to hold after serve, but with no good result.

I played against SMP tonight and most of the time he was returning quite well strong shots long line. Hopefully i was serving well. So I could use a few tips :)

I think experimenting is the best way forward. Anticipating plays a important factor too

Control top spins...

And then don't sit up on the baseline, you need to back up after your return.

Think reflexes stat helps alot. when i got like 70 in it i make alot of return winners and more angle returns.

I really mix up my returns. Never use slice return, is just to easy for the player to make a good shot on it. If the player know how to play.
But top spin and flat where i go cross court and down the line.

Actually I take that back. Playing tonight, I almost never use a control return. It's almost always a normal powered up topspin return. Try and hit most of them deep and angled.

Just play Agassi on very hard you see which returns are possible in this Game. Man the Game has so many realistic Points, it's just crazy.

You should have seen one of the Returns Agassi performed against me.

My Service from the Advantageside came down the Line and he just countered it with a Short Forehandswing to my Side near the Out-Line on my Deuceside.

I already saw such returns from Agassi in real Life.

THIS GAME IS A FREAKING MASTER-PIECE and we have to honour to play and explore it to the fullest.

I discover more and more in this Game what's just insanely good.

By the Way is Aggasi on very hard one of the hardest Mofugger you can play. I was able to beat Nadal a few Times now but Agassi is another Number.

Anil already said this.
