Player Slow Reactions...

Postby Vieira151 » Tue, 22 Mar 2011 19:50

I've read - and also experienced first hand - about when then you hit a shot and attempt to move your player directly after, he will sometimes react rather slowly, and not move till about 1-3 seconds after you move the analog stick.

Now, my question is:

Is this a glitch, or is it the reflexes stat coming into play?(maybe affected slightly by stamina? :? )

Just want to hear what you guys think of this...

The more powerful you are the slower the reactions. Reflex stat comes into play here. As an offensive baseliner you have to make your shot count so that you are not quickly wrong footed by an experienced counter puncher.

If I have moved back to the centre of the court after hitting a shot, and the opponent plays it back that way behind me, my player ALWAYS takes a step away in the wring direction before running. My speed and reflex are both 80.

I disagree. I've used Chang on the 2K Open and still run into the same problem.

It could be something I am doing wrong, pushing too far or something, but it is definitely not connected only to speed and reflexes.

it frustrated me as well. I can see it happen also to my opponent and it's not nice to win a point like this while you can clearly see that he wanted to move in the good direction but the character does this thing.
Sometimes it feels like you have a NHL player, he's sliding in the wrong side until he can recover to go to the other side but its too late... did 2k knows anything about split steps?
As the game is now I guess then it would mean 90 shots rallies if they were to fix this issue...

True. It's a difficult balance. And I agree that there does need to be some delay, and some wrong-footing. It's just a bit too much right now.

I haven't expereinced it. Like in DMT you need to move smooth. Don't jerk your player around ??

That may be a way to counter it, but not verybody can move like Fed

Basically Anil, sometimes when you go to move for the ball, your player will not react for a couple of seconds. It usually happens when changing direction.

A few seconds seems horrible. Hmmm someone needs to record it.

Seconds is probably a bit overstated but it is noticeable. Id say max 1 second.

When returning serve sometimes you will take a lil step in direction you want to go, player will stop and then continue moving. If it happens you have to be pretty lucky to win point especially against big server.

It odd how doesnt happen all time tho.

I've been experiencing this same problem online. Even with a character with speed at 95 it still happens which is sucky...
