No actually you were the first ITST player who abused it.

Just remember one thing. If it is considered cheesy. In the end cheesing is not allowed in ITST. So don't make it a habbit :-)

In my opinion it will probably only make it to the "annoying" category and not cheesy. It's not like it can't be countered, and it doesn't give a whole lot of benefit for very little risk (what most people call cheesy), it's just the play some types of play styles will have to use to hang in the match.

I try to go offensive with my defensive baseliner, but it just doesn't work :(. He isn't powerful enough to go toe to toe with off baseliners so I just slice until I find and opening. I hate it though, cause I want to be more offensive with him but if I do then balls will come back to me faster, and he won't get to them even with his 82 in speed.

Surprisingly I have a lot of trouble with characters like yours, all rounders. There's this guy who I can't seem to beat with my counter puncher. No amount of slicing can do the trick. Most of the characters that are all out offensive don't give me trouble cause I can exploit their speed, but you and this guy I'm talking about aren't as slow as the others. Yet at the same time you still have enough power to give me a run for my money.
I barely won against you, and I've come close to winning against him but I always end up falling short.

Slicing is definitely effective, but, imo, how effective it is also dependent on the two characters facing each other. The typical big server offensive baseliners in WT have a lot of trouble against my counter puncher. They are so slow and I can win just based off their speed alone. It's still tough, but at least I have something to exploit.
Against all rounders, you and the other guy, it's a much harder match. Slicing is still effective, but I can't exploit anything. You're just fast enough, so I can't exploit your speed/stamina. At the same time, your just powerful enough to overpower me. Not as easily as the others, but just enough to give me trouble and control the rallies.

I slice return with my counter puncher as well, but slicing returns against my karlovic is actually what I would like, cause it makes it easier to volley. Whereas when people give me different looks on the return, like coolhand did yesterday with hewitt and some do in world tour, then it can be a guessing game at times.

Now I'm not saying that slicing isn't good, no, but rather how effective it is is based more on the characters playing. Just like how power and serving are still very strong, but my counter puncher can handle power very nicely. The easiest way to beat my counter puncher is to use S&V cause his return is weak, or an all rounder.

Exactly. As a defensive baseliner you dare not try to go offensive with those 82 power, 80 bh/fh characters. You will lose. You have to play defense, with slicing, then hit when you find an opening. I learned very quickly after my first couple matches in world tour. I'd say it's more annoying than anything. Just like how you can get aced so many times against a big server and have to guess every now and then. You really can't call serving cheesy though, annoying yes, but at the same time they give up speed to do what they do.

I've given up power, serving, and the ability to go offensive on the fly for speed, stamina, and slicing. That's why you were able to control me so well anil, but at the same time i could chase down everything.

Look we almost had the same sort of setup.

So the whole story about defensive is true but I have the same really. But I prefer not to abuse but rather got for what you see on the tennis court. And I mean ATP.

It's your choice, and a reasonable one. Just don't expect other people to try and play just like ATP players, even if it is annoying that they don't. As long as the shot isn't ridiculously overpowered it shouldn't be called cheese.

It is . There is just a whole thread about it with only you not agreeing hehehe I think :-)

No seriously. I mean maybe it's a choice. But in the end when something is possible in a video game that isn't really possible like that in real and you abuse it it's called rather exploiting the game and so that is called cheesy or do I see that wrong.

Hey, hit me up any time you see me online. I may say no, or not answer if I'm already in a match, but I can rarely turn down a match from an ITST player.
