What's wrong with Jelena Dokic?

Just looked at match highlights (Dubai loss to Pennetta)... she seems almost bored at times...

She always seems bored. It's her tactic of trying to not give way to her inner emotions. She is good player but she needs to tighten up the fitness a bit. Afterall, her nicname is "jelly-belly" If she got some true fitness going ala Dinara Safina, she would be top 20 me thinks.

True lol I was like "gee Jelena suck it up" lol I hope she gets a good trainer then! I want to see her back in the top 20...top 10 if possible. Right now though she's got a lot of work to do.

Jelena is a good player, but she gets so lazy on court, at times just refusing to move her feet.

She hits every ball for a winner and doesnt move well enough to defend if the ball comes back. If she can string some wins match fitness will come and she is easy Top 30

She was going to retire and study in college again. However, her breakthrough wins caused her to re-evaluate! :)

Now, I am not sure if she is thinking in the past again. :(

Jelena just beat Francesca Schiavone!!! Maybe she is a contender after all! We'll see. I remember her retiring after giving the smack down to Dementieva in RG. She still got it I guess. :D

To be honest Schiavone's win at RG reminded me of gaudio's.

Gaudio is the bomb! He is not strong mentally but he has a fantastic game. If it reminds you of that then maybe you think Fran is weak mind too? Maybe I agree too but a win is a win and a GS is definitely a GS!!! Love Gaudio!!!

Beating a reining GS champion and current top 10 player is not a great win?!?!?!?! Man, you have some ridiculously high standards. :?

Did you watch the match? and have you seen her form recently??

After AO where she made the QF, lost to Jarmila Groth in Fed Cup, lost to kuznetsova in Dubai (her second match), lost to shuai peng in Doha (first match)

as you can see, her for after the AO is not the same. So referring back to my earlier statement, a good win but not a great win.

If Dokic doesn't get to the semis in that tourney, then the win was a fluke. Her biggest challenge is either Kleybanova or Date-Krumm in the semis. Other than that she may play Bovina next round (womp) or Tanasugarn in the quarters.

Hopefully the Schiavone win boosts her confidence but looking at the big picture Coolhand's right... Francesca's been losing albeit tough matches, but they're matches she should be winning.
