Justin Henin

Talk about anything related to the ATP and WTA tours.

i go from being ignorant to jealous? could you please make up your mind?

and because I have a small racquet? WTF. and trust me, Im not jealous of serena. Henin is a unique individual as well, who else could "consistently dominate the womens game with a one handed backhand like she did?

In fact, I think we can assume you might be a bit jealous of henin? I mean you did create a thread about her, and it seems your still pissed over a small incident? So one can assume you are a little jealous of her.

Arguing about "taste" in anything is kinda pointless guys

Will, I don't think there anything you can say to Coolhand to make him like Serena - and I think this all he is trying to say.

I don't like Serena either, I don't like her looks (not my type) and I don't like her personality. I am OK with her game, but not because I think there is someone way better, I just don't like the "type" of game.

That said, she is mentally the strongest player on both ATP/WTA tours. And that is the catalyst I think. There is talent out there, that can come close to her, more then a few....but it remains hidden behind nerves for 99% of players.

Venus is better than Justine or Serena :c

That clip of Serena was awesome btw, a lot of old matches though...damn!

Justine wasn't honest, that's it. Serena got caught by that and the crowd. I think that situation made her even more mentally stronger though, and she's had the much more illustrious career. But I guess the fact that Henin spoke up about it herself, so many years later, brings people to doubt her honesty in sportsmanship, in a sense. I didn't like Justine, but the woman could play great tennis and power tennis when she needed to - her match against Venus at the USO in 07 was awesome http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VPPjAAPHuIQ
Seems I can't cross that threshold just yet :(

I hated to see Venus lose that one but that match was electric. You don't see stuff like that now. Justine played unbelievably but so did Venus. Definitely should have been the final! What a match!

The commentator said it "womens tennis at it's best", shame the level has dropped back since then.

Too think of the height difference and how Henin could take it to Venus playing herself at a high level was fantastic.

Yeah I heard that definitely and I agreed. The quality of the points was phenomenal, and the highlight points were mostly in the same game at crucial moments!!! I miss THAT kind of women's tennis... the tactics and shotmaking UGH!!! Awesome...

Venus and Henin have actually been involved in some of my favourite womens matches of recent years, even though I am more a fan of Kim and Serena. You could forgive easy early rounds when the top ranked players faced off in great matches like this later in the tournament, but now it's just mediocrity all the way through.

Here's part of it I think... the girls now possess the shots, but their mind game ISN'T THERE AT ALL!!! The most promise I see is Kvitova, but like u said Fed nobody's putting solid results together...except Wozniacki but she's just out rallying the other girls.

I thought Pennetta could have taken her out in Doha, but idk where Pennetta was, and Woz played slightly more aggressive.

It's mind boggling lol the women's game right now smh

You're just jealous because you have a small racket.

Serena is one of the most athletic players in women's sports history. She has so much muscle mass and yet plays tremendously well. Muscle mass usually isn't supposed to help you play tennis better, it is usually lean muscle like Justine. Serena is just one of a kind as she has the trophies to prove it. 8)

serena moves slower side to side than a tank; she has good vertical sprinting abilities. other than that all that she possesses is shear power and intimidating physical attributes, she is just so much more powerful than any woman in tennis has ever been; there is no grace or finesse about her game just hit it as hard as you can is what her gameplan is

Chederer, please Youtube Serena Venus '08 US Open and then repeat what you said with a straight face. Furthermore, Serena's serve is one of the sickest serves on both tours in my opinion. Her serve last year Wimbledon was unbelievable. Serve and power are definitely her strengths. She is a good returner as well.
