Justin Henin

Talk about anything related to the ATP and WTA tours.

Serena is a fierce competitor. Off the court she's a nice woman, but on the court, she's a rebel and she's gonna fight for every point.

What happened in Paris DID affect her game because the crowd jumped on her back and rode her till the end of the match. It was unsportsmanlike for Justine to act like it didn't happen, but I actually watched the match, and although I felt for Serena I agree she should have been able to overcome it and FIGHT her way through.

I wanted Serena to grunt and COME-ON and fist-pump her way through that match, but if after every winner you hit the crowd boos you, and after every first serve miss the crowd applauds rudely, it would get to anybody and that's fact.

It's fine to have your favorites and I actually LOVE Justine's backhand and her smart game (when she was winning all the slams...). I favor the Williams sisters though because of the way they shook the women's game up.

I think Serena's a beautiful woman, but if you play her, she's gonna show you her ghetto gritty Compton side . You can call her a hippo and a gorilla, but so what... she's a multimillionaire and she STILL intimidates players. Her NOT being at the open was the topic in every pre-match interview (on the women's side at least). I only wish Venus would have won more slams to see what kind of names you guys would have called her.

Venus is the less noticed of the sisters, but if she had more success and slam wins, she'd be in the limelight a lot more, hence more opportunities for name calling...

Even still, Serena sure aint the ugliest woman on tour by far...

She also had a similar "cheating" incident in the AO 2004 final.

But she was a great player, one of the best and one of the toughest on court. Too bad she had to be such a weak individual.

It's funny how people are still so ignorant about the game though, if you call
this "hippo tennis" than you obviously know nothing about the game.

I agree, Coolhand is ignorant because he doesn't understand all beauty. So be it. He couldn't handle her anyways. You got to "show up" to please Serena. Coolhand's racket just isn't big enough. It's not his fault though. Like Lady Gaga said, "Baby I was born..." :P

I'm ignorant because I don't like to watch a player? What makes my opinion about watching a player ignorant?

I really don't like serena's attitude at all, the whole I'm gonna shove this ball down your throat incident just really made me dislike her. Can't stand her.

Now if im ignorant because of that.. Thats bullshit

Plus we are talking about the wta, personally don't give a damn about womens tennis. Bores me to sleep most of the time.

It's odd that women's tennis even gets the attention it does. I mean, who watches women's basketball, soccer, baseball (softball) or golf??? I guess it's because they drag the women to all the big men's tournaments. So we have no choice but to watch.  8)

I think cro because at one time, even not in the distant past, there wa a level of depth, fun, variety, personalities and sheer talent that was incomparable with another womens sport. Its a shame the WTA is in a sorry state now.

You're not ignorant because you don't like Serena. But referring to her tennis as "hippo tennis" is very ignorant.

Since when was "beautiful" tennis simply a term used to define players with a one handed backhand or who don't play a power game? To be honest, Justine Henin had a very powerful game.

maybe if you would read the thread, you would see that I referred to her as a hippo not "hippo tennis". Im saying she is huge (as big as a hippo).

You're just jealous because you have a small racket.

Serena is one of the most athletic players in women's sports history. She has so much muscle mass and yet plays tremendously well. Muscle mass usually isn't supposed to help you play tennis better, it is usually lean muscle like Justine. Serena is just one of a kind as she has the trophies to prove it. 8)
