I'm wondering do you think when fed hired annacone and became more aggressive to give himself a better chance to beat nadal that this more aggressiveness fits right into djokovics hand?

Or is Novak just finally fulfilling his true potential?

The latter, fulfilling his true potential.

Djokovic is only 23 years old. He'll be better still. Fed, sad to say, has one foot on the exit ramp.

What's weird is that at the beginning of the week I believe fed said he plans to play past 2012 Olympics, but I just can't see him keeping his form that long. But if he still has the passion for he it, he may not care about his ranking then.

My Opinion is that Federer is maybe slowly loses the Bite he had ion the Past.

If you look at the Facts. There is nobody who can reach him the water. Look what ha has reached in his Career. Other Players dreaming from such a success and Djokovis is a few Years younger.

Will Federer be satisfied with being ranked sub-5 for most of the year?

I think yes, because he loves the game that much. Djoko is playing GREAT right now...undefeated on the year and even when he's not 100% he hangs around until he finds his range... then steamrolls. I'm happy for him and it's great for the game.

If he manages to get at least 1 GSlam every year then he will continue playing no matter what his ranking may be.
Never underestimate the pain of a person, because in all honesty, everyone is struggling. Some people are just better at hiding it than others.

Look at Sampras the last 3 years of his career when he made those USO finals he did little else, was ranked outside the Top 10 and losing to everybody. Federer is still right there, maybe if we get to the Olympics and he feels he is falling further behind he might finish but he loves tennis so he could go on and on.

federer wants records. He has a lot but he wants to be undisputedly the greatest player ever. As he ages he will try for other records, such as oldest winner of a grand slam etc, i bet he will also want a doubles slam title and a davis cup as well, along with and olympic singles medal.
