Sampras vs. Agassi

Postby VillaJ100 » Sat, 26 Feb 2011 13:07

Who do you think will win this exhibition at the bnp paribas open? They played in the far east in 2009 with sampras winning, and again late last year in bogota with sampras winning 64 63. But even though its a exhibition both guys will want to give thier best... who will come out on top?

My guess sampras in 3.

Never underestimate the pain of a person, because in all honesty, everyone is struggling. Some people are just better at hiding it than others.

Agassi in 2. The returner's game lives longer then the server's.

Samparas in 6-0, 6-0 straights. He's in better shape than Agassi.

I heard the serve is one of the last things to go. Kind of like power in boxing

The bigger question is, is are we going to see a brawl?

Not true  I am a real live example of it

Serve was one of my biggest assets, but now, I can't put the ball in the box normally....let alone dictate with placement.

The arm remembers, yes, but once you start trying to get close to lines - bad things happen.

In this particular match up, Samprass Agassi, it was always about how Samprass serves. If he is a bit off - Agassi destroys him.

Aggasi in 2. :P

Honestly, does anyone really care about an exhibition match between middle-aged tennis players?!? I have tons of respect for both, but I wouldn't pay a penny to watch these two play.

To be fair, even at 51 mcenroe plays to a ridiculously high level. If you think masters tennis isnt entertaining, try to watch mcenroe-sampras from the albert hall a couple of years ago, what a game.

Well, I'd be interested in seeing it, but not from a competitive standpoint. To me, the experience would be more like going to a museum - to gaze at some centuries-old paintings.

I'd still want to see tactics and varying playstyles. You can still learn something even from watching old legends/veterans at the game.
