Breakthrough player of 2011

Talk about anything related to the ATP and WTA tours.

A stricter coach is not what Gulbis needs. A stricter coach can give you more discipline in training but not change your attitude in life and on the court. If he doesnt decide on his own that he actually wants this lifestyle he better just quit. He wouldnt be the first talented player to achieve absolutely nothing because of the wrong attitude.

Excellent point. But, I disagree. Some people need guidance - some don't. Look up Agassi as an example, without hooking up with the "right" people, he would not be where he was.

Agreed, but somehow Gulbis doesn't strike me as the person to take anyone's advice on how to live his life.

Gulbis doesn't need a stricter coach. He needs a better psychiatrist.

True. He didn't have a "father figure" more of a "benefactor figure"

I still think Brad has the right formula for big hitters. He could be good for Gulbis, even short time.

Gilbert would set him strait. I'd love to hear some of their conversations though, cuz honestly I don't think Gilbert would fall into Gulbis' emotional tornado. Gilbert's to the point...and he wouldn't care if Gulbis was drunk...he'd probably bring alcohol to the practices to improve his hangover game!

Xavi, did you get to see him play today? ...would love hear if I assessed his game right from you.

This guy has same "aura" about him that I saw in Nadal and Federer early on. I can just feel this guy is destined to do big things.

I bet a lot of players are going to be praying not to see his name next to theirs in the draw.

i could not, my bro did though and he's very impressed, according to him Milos has that "something" Rafa had too when he was starting.
I'll try to watch the final, if he's able to beat Roddick then we'll have a "new man in town"

Raonic can definitely take Roddick. His ground game is slightly more solid than Andy's. Plus, when Andy's serve goes off, so goes his game in some cases. However, this is a final, and Roddick is going to do all he can to win, but Raonic is gonna be too steady.

I worked on that match, and i'm not that impressed yet...
What i saw is huge serves, some nice volleys, but when rally was there he was not that awesome...
And honestly, Mardy was not at his best (and in all, he doesn't represent a big test, does he?)...
Let's wait after a dozen of big matchs and then let's check his Win/Loss ratio... Other big test is when he'll be playing for a big title (if he does one day).
Don't get me wrong, the guy looks very "cool" and focus, has nice groundstrokes and a big serve and i wish we have a new top player in the building...
But let's give some time to the guy (and some true tests), so that he does not become a.... Gulbis? (Mwuhahaha!! ^^)
