That must be helluva annoying for verdasco. But i dont really like him anyway so its fine.

It must be throughly demoralising as a pro to play the greatest match you will ever play in your life, and still lose.

"For me that's not a real match in tennis," Verdasco said. "I hope to play soon against him in clay court to show him what it is to play tennis, and play rallies, and run, and not only serve."

btw i don't like Nando's attitude, but i understand him, i think the same every time i loose against someone with a super power serve, i can't even touch the **** ball for god's sake, that's not tennis!!! i say to myself, that being said i always respect my opponent and i keep those thoughts to myself
You've got to understand than in Spain we don't spent too much time practicing serves,(almost all our courts are clay courts), so we don't give a shit, that's not tennis for us. In North America (and probably in Northern Europe too), where almost all the players are good servers, you love aces...why? because it's spectacular...and you love action, for us it's boring.

Once again Vedasco's attitude is reprehensible, but i share his thoughts.

not trying to start an argument, i'm just giving my opinion, which i bet most of you disagree with, i respect that

PS: Didn't watch the match, and i haven't seen Raonic more than 5 min so... well i can't give my opinion on him as player

I would agree with you, but, Ranoic created 11 BPs on Fers serve and outplayed him from the baseline.

So his argument here seems like a "frustration" rather then a "real" argument.

BTW - Fer did get 2 chances on Raonic serve.

Either way you look at it, Fer is just an ass.

Althou I agree with you that playing against a big server can be Boring, I just think Raonic is WAY more then "just a big serve". Fernando had no problem with:

Karlovic 3-3
or
Isner 1-0

haven't watched him playing, do you think he's only a hard courts player or he will be able to do well on clay??

and yeah i agree about Fer's bad attitude

I think he is a future grand slam winner and future number one. Yes, that is how good he is. Unless of course he "breaks", gets injured.

He already has one of the best serves on the tour (if not the best). He ALWAYS looks to go forward to the net, and when he goes there he makes other big servers look amateur (Ivo, Roddick, Isner etc) His is an excellent vollier with fairly quick reactions and great hands.

But here is the kicker, he has a baseline game. Consistent BH with nice ability to go down the line, good forehand that is not too flat.

I think Fernando will be furious when Raonic will take him out on clay in France.

The guy is "The Real Deal".

BTW - here are the stats from the match. It is clear from here, Fer lost fair and square to a better player. Similar stats on serve, so he might as well be talking about himself about "big serve game is boring":

wow he's starting to sound like one of those whiny mid-90's spaniards and south americans who flat out refused to go to wimbledon as it was 'unplayable'. Must have been embarrasing when agassi won with a average serve and baseline game!

actually i always thought he wasn't the typical spaniard (Ferrer, Granollers..), i mean his style fits well on hard courts in my opinion, best performance from him was in Australia, i guess he's a bit down and frustrated that's why he reacted that way, he even said months ago that he wanted to be a top 5

I agree with Al, Raonic proved it wasn't a fluke when he bean Nando last week.

The kid's 20 and he's already beating big rep dudes... so it's only a matter of time before he's in the top 15/10.

Dare I say he wins a grand slam in less than a year... and watch out for him at Wimby, he's got the game for the grass.

i've just checked his coach is spaniard (Galo Blanco), so that could be a good combo, Milos natural talent to attack, good serve, playing at the net... ,and a spaniard trainer to try to improve or make even better his baseline game

What's really funny is that Fernando is capable of serving really really big serves (he hit a 150 mph fault that barely missed recently) himself so I'm not quite sure what he's so mad about. I guess just that Raonic can do it more consistently and more intelligently than himself.

I think what the problem is that Raonic is actually a better ladies man than verdasco. Verdasco is just getting pissed because the past two tournaments Raonic has stolen what normally would have been Verdasco's ladies, but now Raonic gets them.

That is the underlying factor in this.
