Muscular problem

I've been having this muscular problem lately. I rarely, rarely use slice on my bh, so i hit even the lowest balls with my 2h backhand, thus making loads of UE from that side. After my weekly 3 hours of tennis, i feel a terrible pain inbetween my knee(right knee) and my hip(closer to the knee that to the hip). I m afraid to go check a doctor. I almost always play on clay, but i used to play a lot on hard courts(in the past). Any advice?

You should probably see a doctor though. The longer you wait the more damage you are likely to do

Sounds muscular, but you didn't mention nature of pain man - is it constant or throbbing/pulsing? Is it there all the time or just when you move? Presuming you didn't knock it in the last few days or would have mentioned.....can you see any bruising/contusion? Is the area tender to touch - if muscular injury, it should be, but that might also be indicative of contusion.

Ultimately, I'd say if it persists, bite the bullet and just go see your doctor - in the meantime, take an analgesic - it will relieve muscular inflammation - ibuprofen if you it - I'd not recommend a strong painkiller as may hide symptom (pain) that could be something else.

Go see doctor if concerned man - and do check out that website in the meantime : )

based on my experience you just need to rest for 15 days more or less, i've been 25 days without playing tennis because a terrible pain in my left knee too, i started feeling the pain"after" running for about 40 minutes and well i guessed it was a tendonitis..., now i'm feeling better
that being saif if your pain doesn't decrease in 1-2 weeks...visit the doctor.

Most of the time muscular problems are solved with rest

When i have a few pains , i just take some days off and apply ice .

As a long term strategy, i recommend you learn to hit a low cutting, authoritative slice :)

I only play 3 hours per week, fcs! Usually on Saturdays... It's a constant pain that lasts for a day or two after the matches i play... It kinda comes in pulses...

the fact that you play that little and the pain lasts for that long, is not a good thing at all.

when I had elbow tendinitis from baseball, the pain didnt last more than a few hours after throwing a baseball. when i pulled my hamstring, same thing. So the fact that it last that long, is a bit concerning

playig tennis, agreed. sure i have aches and pains after, but not actual physical pain.

apart from when i broke my wrist, but thats another story!

I'm itching to hit the court again soon!!! Training for tourneys and match play, but I need my sprained ankle to heal (sprained it 8 days ago and it went down, until last night when I was dancing again and all of a sudden it flared up!)... and my left wrist has gotten very fragile... :? either way I'm resting now until I can hit the court soon.

Rest I find is the best thing... and if you absolutely MUST hit, then hit light and don't play matches.

See a doctor and get physio. To prevent things getting worse. The longer you wait. The worse it will get the longer you won't be able to play. Ur choice.
