WTA Legends??

Postby Nardy2010 » Fri, 21 Jan 2011 22:54

Why is there not a single WTA legend in the game? I find that a bit odd, along with the fact that there are more ATP LEGENDS in the game than total female players period!! I understand liscensing etc, but my issue isnt with WHO was chosen to be in the game but rather why so few women players.

There are not many WTA legends out there. I mean, all I keep hearing of is Navartilova! :) The others are toss-ups really.

That is my opinion though.

Obviously is your opinion, if you've not heard about Evert, Sabatini, Graf, Seles, Sánchez Vicario, Martínez, Pierce, Hingis or Davenport is because you're not a tennis fan at all. Most of them won several grand slams (Steffi 22 if I remember well) and every player had a unique style of play, not the same as today.

You are joking right?? There are 3 or 4 women legends who have achived more than Federer and Sampras combined lol......seriously Graf,Evert,Goolagong,Seles,Navratilova. And considering some of the mens legends such as Chang,Rafter and Courier made it in, then you could even add the liikes of Hingis,Sanchez-Vicario,Capriati,Davenport,Pierce.

Well Chang and Courier were probably cheap to get and that is why they are in, thought we might have seen Steffi though seen as we got Agassi and they probably share management, plus Seles as she was in the the last one.

Anyway maybe there will be downloadable characters at a later date.

I hope they are, especially for the women, it's always a stretch to see more than 8 in a game.

Anybody remember the PS2 game WTA Tour Tennis? The roster alone was worth the buy, even though the gameplay was somewhat sub-par.

If we could get a game like that I'd be SUPER excited. I'm a big WTA fan.

Yes I had it because I like the idea of playing a full calender year matching the tour but it quickly became a chore keep winning 60 60.

LOL I agree, I would play matches on very hard and just use the weak shot to make it harder on myself, and to make the scoreline interesting. That was THE best women's roster I've seen...ever

Yeah I think Huber had her topspin whip forehand, Capriati had her fh and bh animations for certain power shots, Serena had her buggy whip looking forehand, Hingis had her shots... Henin had her bh...Dokic shots looked weird lol but they were hers I guess; but they only came out at certain times when u were in position and timed it right. Otherwise you'd get the generic "wta tour tennis" lame-o forehands and backhand animations ::gags:: :| :stupd

There will be no more characters added at this point. Perhaps as downloadable content later on.

Lol that wasn't what i asked.....im sure there won't be any more players BUT that still doesnt answer how they managed to not include a SINGLE female legend in a game which boasts having the biggest and best ever roster and has 8 male legends alone! So i was simpliy wondering if one of the devs may have addressed that via twitter of Facebook etc.

well why wasting money on WTA licenses when that spending effort would not help them to sell more TS4 games?, wether you like it or not, female tennis is meh, not just my opinion, few minutes ago i was checking videos on youtube, "Ten burning questions".... 10 questions to ATP and WTA players....well if you check those videos, there's the following question:
"If you could pick any player from history of tennis to be your doubles partner who would you choose?",
and almost none of the WTA players answered a female player, that surprised me a lot, not even them look up to the WTA legends.
