game looks nice, but too bad the spins dont matter as they should - i dont see any improvement in that department - its like a hollywood movie with nice visuals 8)

Based on this trailer, how in the world did you reach that conclusion?

I don't like some of the animations, and Like Tans said, a few slices and top spins that I have seen dont have the proper spin effects :?

Other then that, most animations look VERY good. Shots on the run are better and volleys seem to be finally looking great, not like some TS3 volleys that look like you hitting them with a frame rather then strings, and a few feet in-front - if that makes sense.

Perfect sim doesn't always equate to fun. Top Spin 1 was a runaway hit cause it was balls-to-the-wall FUN. Period. The ITST was rocking-n-rolling during TS1's heyday. I'm all for Sim, love Sim, but "fun as hell" is all that matters in the end.

Top Spin series has never been about attacking different ball heights, you can hit with same pace from every height, when its lower than smash. i would be amazed, if id see the height and spin come into play a bit more. i hope, but doesnt seem so. in Top Spin terms there is flat shot and top spin shot. but there is no spin impact difference with in-game Agassi versus Nadal top spin forehand. in real tour there are guys, who can hit top spin better, slice better - not so the case in Top Spin series. i hope im wrong in Top Spin 4 ;)

I STRONGLY disagree.

Well, no, agree  with "not always". But in case of TS3 and TS4 SIM is MORE fun. Controls where the main issue from making SIM fun. If they did a good job at making controls accessible - then the SImmier the better!

I even still think TS3 when played in SIM format is extremely fun! I cant stop playing fun! Problem was controls. Some people just gave up on trying to grasp them and trying to master them. But the once that sticked with it, I can honestly say having fun with TS3 till this day....and would have kept having fun for a few years if TS4 didn't came out.

Bottom line - here is my Bold Prediction Cro (cough, cough) - TS4 will be twice as big as TS1 8)

Balls-to-the-wall fun will result in more people buying/playing the game, which of course will result in profit for 2K/2K Czech, which of course will result in Top Spin 5.

My guess: this is their last attempt to produce a winner (i.e. money-maker). If TS4 bombs, no more Top Spin. So yeah, I'm rooting for Sim, but what I'm really hoping for is "fun" -- even if that means playing a game that incorporates absolutely nothing about the attacking of different ball heights.

yeah, I get what you saying and agree with it. I was just making a point that SIM is fun, problem is that it must be accessible fun, not 2-year-academy-of-pressing-and-releasing-buttons fun.

Ironically enough, I would have hated TS1 if not for ITST's Sim (no triggers) tour.

If TS4 is too arcadey out of the box, let's hope it can be sim-a-fied.
