All for.....tennis

Swiss Stanislas Wawrinka quit his new family less than a year after the birth of his daughter, with Swiss media reporting that the World number 21 left home for a hotel room in late September
The 25-year-old married former television presenter Ilham in December 2009 and they had a child last February. “Stan returned on September 20 after the Davis Cup in Kazakhstan and told me he had new priorities. He packed his bags and moved into a hotel,” Wawrinka’s wife told tabloid the Blick.

Swiss media reported that Wawrinka felt that he has only five more years to make an impact in tennis and hence cut out family distractions.

Gulibs should do the same....wait.. he's not married

If this is the reason, and it may well not be, then he must be deluded. What's he expecting to do? Win a slam? Dream on!

People quit on their families all the time. That's life, for better or worse. At least Stan's reason is somewhat honorable.

Nah disagree. Who knows, probably hates his wife and is using tennis as an excuse. Either way, again, that's life.**

** Marriage rate: 6.8 per 1,000 total population
** Divorce rate: 3.4 per 1,000 population

By dumping his wife/family, Stan is practically in the majority.

What's your point because heaps of divorces occur you should just do it?

It the daughter thing that annoys me, not the divorce.

My point? I don't have a point. Just stating the facts. Half of those who get married eventually get divorced. This applies to plumbers, firefighters, cashiers and professional tennis players. No point calling out Wawrinka for something half the world population does.

With regard to the daughter, every psychologist (and children of unhappily married parents) will tell you: "Don't stay together for kids." Tons of studies support this fact.

If a plumber left family because he wanted to clean more pipes(ok sounds bad lol) and make more money then say same thing.

Hey if relationship was bad have no quarrels at all. Just saying family>work.

Agree with Cro 100%.

AUS - are saying he is a dusch because he got out of a non working relationship? ...or because he used his career as an excuse?

I wish Stan all the best.

Dudes wake up! Nobody gives a rat's butt about the chick. The kid is most important. I hope he will take care of his kid. If he does not then I hope he gets hit in the temple by a tennis ball and hemorrhages to death.

What makes you think he wont take care of the kid? ...enough to wish something bad on him.
