good luck man

It was a nightmare situation in a way...my very 1st show, EVER, and I had to play 3 songs completely by myself   On the plus side, everybody said I did really good and that it was amazing that I didn't completely break down and walk off the stage or something  I'll post a few pictures or something later.

I remember my first concert..... i was pissing in my pants, nervous as a virgin who's going to be touch for the first time in a cinema by his boyfriend : really nervous :D

i'm glad to hear you still had a good time beside the "accident"

Now you're not a "virgin" anymore, you'll enjoy the coming one a lot more

Yeah you're right...I was definitely nervous in the couple hours before the show, but now I know what it's like and I definitely won't be nervous for our next show.

at least you make a good stage show with explosions

important is that you had fun -
next time your gig will be longer and better.
about your nervous time before and during the gig - i´m not sure this will change .
you will be allways nervous in a way during the first 20 gigs , maybe longer time . (i think)
okay maybe not when you go full drunked and stoned on the stage -like ozzy ossbourne ,bon scott and co had done in the good old days

any news about the groupies?? :)

Getting this Imageinstalled on my guitar right now, it's a Seymour Duncan Dimebucker. It is gonna sound so sweet :c

Also, just bought this 100 watt head (not my picture): Image :c

It's not the greatest Marshall head for sure, but it's really loud, it sounds pretty decent, and it was used and cheap (200 dollars), and I really needed a head of my own (i've been borrowing my lead guitarist's extra head).

Nice :D if i remember correctly, you had multiple gaytars, which one you putting that on?
Im trying to sell my **** Flying-V copy, and using the £70 odd to pay towards a new 2nd guitar for me :) Was thinking of buying the Sustainiac thing, and get a guitar tech to fit it, so i caould fanny around with it

I wish i was in a band :( I wish i was less picky with what i want to play ha

PS when did you say your 2nd gig was?

I only have two guitars actually, an LTD M-350 with a neck-thru construction (the neck and body are one piece of wood instead of being bolted together) and Floyd Rose bridge, and a Fender SRV Strat, which is an awesome guitar in it's own right but totally unsuitable for my band except for clean parts on recordings. Sooo, yeah I'm putting it in the LTD. I'm having a guitar tech do it simply because I have never changed pickups myself and don't wanna screw it up- it 'should' be ready monday.

Sustainiacs are cool, I'm not sure what I'd do with one and they're pretty limited in how you can use them, but they're a cool gadget. You should definitely worry about selling your V copy and getting something halfway decent :P Get a used guitar or something.

My 2nd gig was actually on Dec. 4th, it went really well considering I was using an amp head made by a company called 'RAVEN'...cheesiest piece of crap head I have ever used but I guess it 'did the job'. We have a gig coming up on Jan. 8th. An actual paying gig this time.

I basically just got really lucky in running into the other guitarist; if I hadn't run into him at a bar, I wouldn't be in a band either.

Cool :) Yeah, i basically want the other fuitar for fannying around with, with tunings and sounds ands stuff - cause i got my main guitar for christmas last year, my Schecter Solo-6, which is a floyd and cant be bothered with it! Im gonna keep that one in standard

I went into the shop in dundee, where i stay for uni, and they have am amazing range, from £100 started guitars all they way up to zakk wylde signatures and £5k gibsons and yamahas. I was ideally looking for a guitar between £150 and £250, and ive read that ibanez do good guitars in that rainge. But they dont do any, but they have more schecters in that range. Would it be better do buy a new guitar in that range and do it up, or buy a 2nd hand in that range and do it up?

Cool :) Ive played live before, just never as a guitarist, and never in a small group of people, used to play in a wind/brass band   Cool, how much you expecting for the gig?

Yeah, i have a drummer flatmate who is into metalcore such as architects and bring me the horizon, and a few friend guitarists who arent into any of the sort.. but thats all i kinda have in terms of musician friends who arent currently in a band... Yeah, suppose thats quite lucky :) take it they gave you a wee audition before hiring you?
