ITST: Games Supported in 2011

ITST Management is very much looking forward to 2011 as a minimum of three tennis games are scheduled for release in the new year. Top Spin 4 is of course the most anticipated title, however Virtua Tennis 4 and Grand Slam Tennis also show promise.

The ITST will support Top Spin 4 upon it's release, and could conceivably host tours for both Virtua Tennis and Grand Slam Tennis -- if the games live up to the hype, and more importantly, if the interest is present (i.e. enough people playing the game).

Until the new games are released, the ITST will continue to support Top Spin 3 for both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. For the PC, the Dream Match Tennis (DMT) tour will enter it's third season. All three tours will begin play in Doha on January 4th (Qatar ExxonMobil Open).

The ITST will no longer host a tour for Top Spin 2 on the PC. The game is now over four years old and we feel it has run it's course. I realize this decision will disappoint some members, however, at this point, we believe our efforts to grow the ITST lie in the support of newer titles and our complete dedication to the games being released in the coming months.

Another option could soon open for the PC player. Full Ace Tennis is a recently released PC title that has enjoyed solid reviews. We will gauge interest in this game by hosting a warm-up (test) tournament in early December. A demo version of the game is available at their website (www.fullacetennis.com). ITST members will be able to use this free demo to compete in the warm-up tournament. In other words, it won't cost you anything to give the game (and the tournament) a try. Do you think you will do a farewell tournament for Top Spin 2 PC and perhaps throw in a gift coupon to the champion for Full Ace Tennis?

ITST did something similar to the Top Spin 1 PC tour to best transition to the Dream Match Tennis PC tour.
