MY BAND

Postby jayl0ve » Thu, 04 Nov 2010 07:03

Hey everybody, I just wanted to 'put the word out there' that I'm in a band now- you can see our FB and MS pages in my profile...we're a Melodic Death Metal band; we listen to stuff like In Flames, Children of Bodom, Behemoth, At The Gates, BLAHBLAHBLAH just to give you an idea of what we all like. We're still pretty raw at this point but I'm psyched to actually be in a real metal band.

So, if any of you are in Southern California for some f**ked reason (KINA I'M LOOKING AT YOU) and want to see a fun metal show, in Long Beach, on Saturday Nov. 20th, PM me.

If that doesn't work out well then at least I've given you all a little update on my life, as if you cared. :D

P.S- I'm so new that I'm not even in any of the pictures yet but we're working on that

hey that's great man, hope it's a fun ride for you. I'm half way across the world so I won't be getting to any of your gigs. But I was wondering how far Roselle New Jersey is from your location? There's a certain somebody that I could maybe send your way. :P

I prefer melodico-intrumental-deah-black- extreme metal-symphonic rock/gothic genre of music.

  I am totally with you against the over- genrification and over specification of music :) it's
just that this is not entirely 'my band' and the rest of the guys seem to want to go by the 'melodeath' tag. fine by me, but i would classify us as just plain 'death metal'. not too much melodocism tbh...anyways by the time im writing new stuff for them,
our style is bound to change to something more
brutal.

Thank you guys...Matheja, we have a few songs on our Myspace page....they suck, because they were recorded with our old rhythm guitarist who was nowhere near as good as I am....but I am already adding new rhythm parts to all these songs to make them more 'complete'...I can't wait to play live, the sluts are out of control at these shows...

Wow! I went to listen to your MySpace!
I like it! Your singer is great, cool riffs and breaks but it sounds A LOT too much like a demo for me... We can't hear bass from guitar and all... So the power "all together" parts (as i call those) are not that efficient... Sorry!! don't take it bad man, it's the same with confirmed band demo (Pestilence, Carcass, Monstrosity,...).
But again, great power riffs, songs are not basicly only power playing, you have great breaks also (in melody, or in rythm) and it makes me think "i wish we could hear it with a better sound cause it sounds violently great!"
And yes, i agree with you, i don't understand all those class... This is Death Metal! :c
I like "The Immortal" song a lot... 8)
And your "Jesus Wept" song is not the same as the Suffocation's one... no... :)

:c
Jay, i listenned through my hifi (i was listenning on a laptop) and it's much better... Sorry for the critics... A bit stupid from me... But still i found there is a bit too much "high" and not enough "meddle" or "bass" environnment... Sorry i dunno how to say it, and i don't wanna sound harsh...
Great songs man! Enjoy your show (you already know the parts?) and the boobs! :c

You need to "be there" Kina. This type of music is best live, with a few shots...etc.... you need to feel the energy.

Listening to it over the internet on tiny speakers just doesn't work.

I think you should go and see Jay perform! Then tell us all about it.
