Maybe this is a stupid question, but do you guys use a steering wheel, or just a regular Xbox controller? I can't imagine an Xbox controller being nearly as fun.

I have only a normal Xbox360 gamepad and not a steering wheel...

time ago i got one of those Ferrari steering wheels, but i returned it immediately, don't know if it was because the game (Project Gotham 4 or 3, can't remember well) or because the device itself, but you didn't feel what you should feel driving a car at 200 km/h

I have a steering wheel for my racing games but quickly switched back to the controller.

I just felt the wheel was way to sensitive, it was almost impossible to keep it straight

Yeah I suppose you'd have to have an extremely nice, arcade-style wheel with total force-feedback and all that crap.

That's one nice setup :D

Game looks pretty good, but usually I get bored of F1 too quickly, I actually prefer WTCC, DTM etc. over F1. I'll just wait for Gran Turismo 5, shouldn't be too long either. I do have an old racing wheel for my pc, which was great with DTM Race Driver 3 (or TOCA Race Driver 3 as some may know it).
What would be great would be the Logitech G27, but it's just way too expensive.

i played now a few hours F1
with pad and with a steering wheel ,and to play with a steering wheel makes much more fun to play F1
and it makes the game definitivly more realistic

this counts for F1 -not for other racegames.
often its bad to play a racer with a wheel - but in F1 its definitifly better !!

its indeed a great game.
only the races are little bit long -
i play mostly only 20%from the completly race .
this are circa 14 rounds per race .

anyone is playing the full race ?
i heared that in full races the opponents have often crashes ?
is it true??
in the 20%mode the top drivers never make mistakes like a crash

Hey! I'm playing it (and loving it!) now!
Carrer mode is..... hard at the beginning!!!
I choosed to drive for Lotus for my 1st season, i play on "pro" level.
And i have to admit that i play with some active mecanic helps (when you play with pad, it's too hard without some "helps", and don't they have all kind of helps in real life too? My 7 years old sister could drive Lewis' McLaren F1  )

I did 2 for the 1st race at Barhein  8) then last at Melbourne :( , 18 in Malaysia, and 12 or 15 in China... I'm now on that damn Catalunya track... I did qualify 12 (quite proud 8) ) but it's difficult to keep places you won thanks to some nice/crazy/sick overtacking, since we loose A LOT of time during the pit stop... The "lollypop" guy let all the cars go and then release us from the stand... :?

Anyway...

I love this game!!! :P
