Sim players advantages/disadvantages

Postby tonedawg1 » Mon, 09 Aug 2010 18:08

just wanna know, what do u think or some of the advantages of certain sim characters. list the player you use and what are the advantages/disadvantages of that character. im on ps3 and i use gray
advantages:

good return, decent serve, balanced fh/bh decent speed, and decent power, with all this combined you've got well rounded player.

disadvantages: STAMINA if you ever get in a 3 setter with gray things are gonna get ugly for gray , when stamina goes serve gets weaker and power goes down, no major weapons besides return, gray starts off strong then eventually gets weaker.

Cannon - disadvantages: I feel it relevant to only talk about these... For me I have somehow found a way to really turn both speed (58 & forehand 53) into weapons or at least neutralise any drawbacks inherent perhaps to other users of cannons or other White stat xp's.

I have used cannon from day 1 and have never looked back. I know his movement so well that I can time the ball with precision. To be sucessful in sim is to master the white xp imo
They call me Baggy...

House:

Advantages:
Strong wing for easier and sometimes mindless risk timing to counter the very weak other wing which requires focus to risk well with. The stamina allows my player to run as much as i want without worrying too much about the later stages of the match.

Disadvantages:

Weak wing and serve. Both white stats that when mastered, as Baghdad said, you don't really notice anymore.

i use several players in sim, i have played in tournaments with nakamura, lopez and bucci, and i feel well with all, maybe bucci is the best for GS, but three are very similar, white stats in bh and orange stats in fh, perfect for me, maybe the disadventage for bucci and lopez is the return, and nakamura´s disadventage is stamina.

Tompson

Advantge He is fast

Disadvantage The fact his strength is that he is fast, considering on the ps3 you move like you have 90 speed with 40 speed lol

I used to play with Nakamura but now I use Mahone.

Nakamura
Strengths - Consistent non risk returning that keeps you in the match even if you are flashing red and the opponent smacks around the court. You can count on getting the rally started. It wear down on your opponent, making him feel overwhelmed.
Weaknesses - his speed and reactions will slow down dramatically when he is in red. Keeping the points short becomes and issue as the opponent by that time has a feel for your serve and puts you on defense many times.

Mahone
Strengths - Variety. Has many "keys" to solve the opponent. Forehand is a real weapon. If you manage to sneak into the net, his crisp volleys are great!
Weaknesses - BH side combined with flashing red stamina causes errors on non risk shots. Serve also errors more then with other players. He can feel weak in rallies against a 75 powered players. With stamina drained, getting to the net to use the 78 points can be challenging.
Level 13 Edberg and counting...

I use bucci. I think it's the ideal, beyond their limitations in some hits (FH and return), I can play and make plays that I like. The stamina is the key, the worst thing is play with a tired character who not respond and has trouble moving and striking with firmness.
The return and the forehand I can manage if i use the buttons R 1, 2 and L 1, 2, which gives me a complete player and get the most benefit.
Finally, having a strong player gives me peace of mind and i can make my game knowing that my opponent will always be in worse physical condition.

Cannon seems to be Mahone's kryptonite - just a terrible match up for him I find
