Davis Cup 2010

Postby SlicerITST » Mon, 05 Jul 2010 00:13

This thread is to see if there is interest in a Davis Cup in 2010. We can set it up pretty quickly if there are enough teams. Ask around or make a thread for your country and let me know as soon as possible.

We can have a week to gather the teams and after that start the matches.

As for the way the matches are set up. Im planning on replacing the doubles match with a sim match. So the schedule will be:

Player 2 vs Player 1
Player 1 vs Player 2
SIM match (any of the players may play this match)
Player 1 vs Player 1
Player 2 vs Player 2

So 2 players is enough to form a team.

I remember reading a nice format suggestion on the forums a few months ago, something like

1. MS match
2. MSS match
3. WS Match
4. MSS match
5. MS match

I think thats a more appealing and balanced format.

Seeing that the SIM tour is same size (actually bigger) then the regular tour, I strongly agree with Alex on this format.

Slicer, what do you say?
Level 13 Edberg and counting...
