Groundhog Day is an awesome movie, great choice...

I can't find a picture for this movie, but a very similar movie to 'Groundhog Day' is this short film called "12:01 P.M" It's a very similar concept to Groundhog Day, but much darker. Starring Kurtwood Smith (Robocop, That 70's Show). GREAT movie.

You can probably find the entire movie on Youtube.

Full Metal Jacket (1987), Stanley Kubrick

Image

I really got impressed first time i watched it, very rough movie in my opinion, it shows the stupidity of war from the bootcamp to the real war in Vietnam. I highly recommend it.
Not suitable for all the audiences though

Kubrick was a genius.
When one thinks of the most influential directors in the history of film, one invariably thinks of this man.

I loved 'Full Metal Jacket', as well as most of Kubrick's earlier work.
Dr. Strangelove is one of my all-time favorites.

The performance of Peter Sellers alone is worth the price of admission.
There are some movies you have to see before you die, this is one of them.

To appreciate it you'd have to like/accept that type of humor. If you do, you'll love it.
There is no better political satire.

I haven't seen that film but I notice that the late J. T. Walsh is in it.
In my opinion he was one of the finest character actors out there. His presence made even bad films much better.
Perhaps his most compelling role was as Lt. Markinson in A Few Good Men.
Great, great actor and I'll now probably watch Cro's recommendation of 'House of Games' just to see what kind of role Walsh played in it.

JT Walsh was also extremely good in Breakdown (one of my favorite popcorn movies from 1997).

Love it or hate it, BUFFALO '66 is cold and creepy as hell. Not a huge Vincent Gallo fanboy or anything but this is one of my favorites.
