talking about south-africa group:
I read the list of Uruguay and Tabares (DT) didn't call C. Rodriguez because he said Rodriguez has a 2 match suspension by the FIFA...

My question here how far is he thinking of going in the WC by saying that?? because C. Rodriguez was i think the best midfielder he had..

And also saying that because Ecuador lost the WC in that match we didn't win them   ...

Im just sorry for Antonio Valencia missing the WC..

yeah I remember FIFA saying something like:

"We will not ban the vuvuzela for the 2010 WC. We approach this in a relaxed manner. We are convinced the vuvuzelas will be a hit at the World Cup. It will be a World Cup with African sound"

What they really wanted to say is that:

"It will be a World Cup with African NOISE!! Not sound. But we can't ban those darned things because there would probably be a huge uproar by the natives over this issue"

i didn't know they were called like that, nor they were a south african invention. i am pretty sure that if it wasn't banned in other world cups, the fifa has no right to ban it now.

I agree with GOA.. but at the same time i think FIFA needs to find an agreement with their rules because the celebrations and everything are part of futbol (soccer) :D..

for example giving a yellow card to a player if they exceed in the celebration.. while doesn't hurt anyone in anyway... let them be

well now you know:)
isn't knowledge a great thing :D

Elargento wrote:, nor they were a south african invention.

the vuvuzela is uniquely south african with a very distinctive sound/noise
or you know of any other instruments that convey that same sound?

Elargento wrote:i am pretty sure that if it wasn't banned in other world cups, the fifa has no right to ban it now.

how can they have banned or not banned it in other WC's when it was never used in them?

you mean fifa wasn't the host in germany or france or japan/korea? if they allowed that thing in other events, there is no cause for banning it now.

huh?
the FIFA makes all WC from beginning 1930 in uruguay.

i will explain it again to you (bloufo did it well already before)

thats the first time the WC is in africa - and this vuvuzela is unique in world -only used in southafrican football arenas .

so there is no need to ban it in germany 2006 or elsewhere Before coz no one had used this in earlier WORLDCUPS
its only used in southafrica- so this time it was first time that FIFA must make a decision about .

hope this will help you to understand -

maybe elargento is comparing the vuvuzela to the blow horns sometimes used in football matches in Brazil or Mexico? That's the only thing I can think of.
I repeat though, the south african version is very noticeable for it's own original (and very annoying ) sound.
