Arranging Matches

Postby Moralspain » Sat, 03 Oct 2009 08:40

EDIT: Starting today, we have added a new rule to ITST on how arrange your matches. Please take a note and follow this rule. It well greatly help expedite our tournaments.

- A player making the first contact must offer an exact time of play.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Hello guys, I'm gonna show you the correct way to arrange your matches:

Subject:US Open R32 xbox 360

Message:

Hello, we have a match to play.

I'll list my available times in CET.

Monday: From 4pm to 8pm
Tuesday: From 10pm to 12pm
Wednesday: From 9pm to 11pm
I can't play Thursday
Friday: From 6pm to 11pm

I ask you to choose a day and time that suits you best. If none of the times are good, please suggest times of your own.

Thanks in advance.

Greetings

Moralspain

Your opponent can choose a time to play. If he can not play any of those days, he can message you back proposing a new date.

So please stop sending messages like:

-Match tomorrow
-I´m online now
-Can you play now
-When can you play?
-Tomorow
-Where are you?

With those kind of PMs is very difficult you can finally play your matches.

It´s just a recommendation, but this way you will able to play more matches and you´ll make our job easier when the deadline arrives :D

Thank you

I totally agree Xavi.

It drives me crazy when i get those one liners via PM, and also when I get messages to my xbox message (rather than ITST PM) asking "ITST now" etc?

Appreciate that sometimes it makes sense to play a match when 2 players are due to play but say havent yet organised it, but sometimes i just ain't up for playing ITST matches but i try to get bullied into it.

Thats why I always like to organise via PM, because its official and there is a message trail, and yes back to the point of the thread, a message saying "when can you play" or "where are you I am online now" does my nut in!!

Not like me to sound wingey, but this is the only thing that bugs me a bit about ITST, not 90/40, SIM, fat characters, risk etc....
They call me Baggy...

sometimes you dont know when you can play so asking when can you play is the best option.

i agree with xavi. its the best to do it in that way .
wrote your possible matchtimes ,and ask for his possible matchtimes.

this PM with : CAN YOU PLAY NOW ? that is not the right way . that kind of PM brings only problem for the host to follow ,whats going on .

i also schedule my matches in that way that i send my possible playtimes ,with this i garantee for a correct way to play the match -

BTW: write your opponent soonest as possible after the draw !!
don´t wait till 1 day before deadline -that is cheese and not the right way

It depends on each individuals time restraints.

I usually say these are the times I can play, just let me know if you want to set a specific time within these hours.

If I then see the person online via PSN i will always message them to see if they want to play then, even if we haven't arranged the match for that time.

i can talk only for me ,
to schedule a ITST match to a specific time is very important for me .
i have a girlfriend and also alot of friends are daily in my house ,
when i play my itst matches i need concentration and absolutly quiet arround me,to play good .
not 10 people where are laughing ,talking ,and nerves with unnecessary stuff .

i have my bad experiences with playing in a different way .
so i create my ""itst time "" .
in that time ,i organize that nobody can disturb me

than Also mostly my my girl have her ""girl time""
and in my ""itsttime"" i didn´t open the door for anyone!!
i don´t open the door -maybe , maybe maybe when the house is burning

this ""LET US PLAY NOW IN 2 MINUTES " works not for me . mostly !!

My favorite dialog (as a host) goes something like that:

player1: Hi, when can you play?
player2: Can you play now?
player1: Come, lets play!
player2: I was waiting for you! Where have you been?
Player1: Can you play now?

Damn you!

You guys can not keep sending messages like:

Player A: April 15th
"When can you play?"

Player B: April 16th
"I´m online now, and you"

Player A: April 17th 12:23
"When can you play?"

Player B: April 17th 3:25
" I´m online now, i´m waiting for you"
.
.
.

I'm pretty organised when it comes to arranging matches. I usually offer 2 days that I am available to play with a certain 3/4 hour time period that I can be online. Then I let my opponent choose a specific time within that time period. It works out quite well..except sometimes I can be a little late or I forget I was due to play a match at a certain time

I agree, i never actually have the right to the TV, My dad mum and sister have no problem kicking me off the TV ever or making me do something when on TV, so i have to pick times when there is no chance of this happening
