What is "Fair Play" when playing online?

Postby Tantsutallinn » Wed, 31 Mar 2010 15:31

Hey guys,

just had a practice match with romfab and as i understood i am not friendly, cos i didnt say "good shot" after he made it. I lost and said thx in the end, but this wasnt good enough for him too, so he warned me , that he would report me if i would play the same next time

but the most amazing thing he said to me in msn was that:
"Everybody knows that you is not fair-play..."

well he warned to report me, so im reporting myself now.

yes i dont say good shot as often as i should, cos im playing with controller and my keyboard is far away :D but is it enough to report me as not "Fair Play" player? :) What is "Fair Play" in online terms?

When i think in real tennis the match gets close, i dont see players applauding all the time, like when they lose their serve :D

romfab is french, so he used google translator to chat with me i think, so i really found it hard to understand:

I asked what is fair play:

"Cool rest, is fair-play, and it is everything!!"

I tried for explanation one more time:

"It is explained, and the conversation is registered(recorded), thus continues in the evil to speak to me and that will still give evidence of your ghost..."

I somehow remembered one thing

I dont like to say good shot in the middle of the match, unless its an exhibition.
Really, it can make one lose its focus on the match.

I only say sorry when the character doesnt do the "sorry"-animation.

It's simple, a message saying "GG" after the match is enough.

It really is. If it was a tough loss I can't really manage to say much more than 'good game', and that's all I really expect of anybody that I beat. Actually I don't care if you don't say anything at all, it's better than sending insults. Losing sucks.

After a tough loss, I always send gg, vgg, it is like shaking hands with your opponent after the match. It's very hard to say anymore actually, but a quick gg does show good sportsmanship.

But if someone doesn't send me a gg after a match I win, I don't mind..

actually, sometimes it leaves me a sense of..."yeah, run b*tch you got owned" lol just kidding (kinda') .....but in a certain way, the tougher the loss is for your opponent, the better it's for you (it kinda rises your confidence)...

...that means i dont mind :D

What I hate the most is when I take a tough loss and go out of my way to really acknowledge the other player's skill afterward, and they don't say a word back to me. That is so ignorant (assuming that my opponent speaks English, of course). It's only happened to me a couple of times, but it feels just as bad as getting insulted.

On the other hand, it makes me feel all warm and tingly inside when all I say to someone after a match is "good game" and they respond with a stream of profanity and/or insults. :)
