Play of the Week / Month Ideas

Postby SoundfSilence » Mon, 22 Mar 2010 15:18

Hi guys

I think it'd be a great idea to have a proper 'Play of the Week' or more realistically 'Play of the Month' video.

You can submit your video clip to me and at the end of the month I can post the compilation perhaps with commentary, and we can have a vote for which clip should win. This should be easy to do, as since it's only a clip, we can file transfer to each other quite quickly (MSN or whatever).

This would also get both PS3 and XBOX guys involved together. (Also, DMT and other tours if this kicks off).

What do you think?

How many people do we have who can record at the moment?

The ones I know are:

PS3 - Me, alex, viera
Xbox - Rob, djarvik, GOA, Amazing Matheja, Amazing Zizou

----
My method of recording is exactly like this:

Hey GOA,

Not full match. I am thinking about one point. You know a point where you just think how the hell did I pull off that shot (or your opponent). Crazy smash, volleys, through the legs shots, extremely long exciting rally, anything like that.

I hit a really good one yesterday, but wasn't recording. On the run backhand down the line (double risk), the ball is falling and less than one foot from the ground as I reached it with my double handed backhand, down the line winner (a sort of shot that we've seen Roddick do)

We really need to record with Rob our match when we both "on". We had one of these the other day. I mean this is a thing of beauty. I am sure Rob will agree. To have one of these "special" matches recorded and have Sound add the commentary will be absolutely great.

Rob are up for it? This will be the one to remember. 8)

Very easy to do. I use Windows Movie Maker to capture and edit (came free with my laptop). I can explain to you in PMs.

I think it would be great if at the end of the month, we have 10 clips from various players (XBOX + PS3), and it can be put to vote who wins.

The other day tombs hit a volley through his legs! Would have been a nice clip to show (wasn't recorded :()

I think with Amazing Ziz we'll try to record some too!
We have buddies involve in video and they surely can help us to record matchs (on Xbox)
I think my TV has an "out" video...So we can plug a cam to record...And then digitize the video on computers...Is that the correct way?...
We could record some double match!!! :)

I took apart my old cables that came with my Xbox so I could use the fiberoptic and HDMI at the same time (I made one of these). So until I get something that can record from HDMI, I can't record anymore.

The easycap capture card, cost me £5 (5 British pound sterling), so yeah, I guess around 6 euros. But you get what you pay for, it's cheap and simple so it's not the best quality, but for our purpose it's excellent. (It only records in AV, not HDMI... To record HDMI is a lot more expensive, I guess 100 euros)

I've already done few highlights videos of a couple of matches I played in ITST, I use my PC webcam to film it. check it out :

the image quality is not the same as yours but it works well too for those who don't want to install such a dispositive.
