It's official I can't serve

Lately I've been having a lot of troubles in my service games.
First I thought maybe it's just Anteros, cause I know I have never been a good server, but at least I could get by.

It gets more serious in SIM. As you know, my Bucci is a weaponless clown, God knows how hard I push, still my shots are so soft and loopy. So not only I don't have a "get-me-out-of-jail" serve, I have to fight so hard (i.e. hit 5-7 winners in a row just to win a point). I am drained every time I play a match.

Same goes with my precious Tursurnov. It's bad enough I've been bullied in rallies, now everyone can just jump on my serve. Rob taught me how to serve before, and I got a little bit for a while.

I guess I am just lazy, cause how can you explain I can serve with Bucci's 68 (not so good of course), but I can't serve if I switch to someone with 90.

I think I am gonna go back to Top Spin school and work on the fundamentals.

I would sacrifice a serve for good timing any day of the week. My timing sucks!!! It's gotten to a point where I don't think I can get any better. Opponents just have the timing down in this game now and I struggle a great deal with it. Oh well

First i was A LOT better with low serve stats...I can hit lines with 65,60,55,50...But i thought i couldn't with 90 on serve...Until i tried 80 and the i realised how "simple" it is...Keep the same "ending" timing as your serve with low stats,the difference is only at the "beginning" : with high stats you can/must give direction sooner...And release it all just when the ball start its way down...
Basically,with low stats i start aiming just when the ball quits the hand...I release all (aiming+trigger...) just when the ball start going down (even slightly before)...With high stats i only start to aim sooner : when the ball hasn't left the hand yet...But i think it's all personnal...So maybe try to search for your timing around those (before the ball left hand-before it starts going down...)
I know i'm not a top gun - Hey!I heard you!Who's laughing!?! - but i believe i can serve well...So just wanted to share my "tips"...
How can i hope helping the #1 top gun?It would be like Arnaud Clement giving advices to Federer on how he must slice...

Another tip! : Try to Serve & Volley!It helped me a lot with serves timing!

My biggest problem is the switching between women and men - after playing a women's match, my timing in men's singles is completely gone for some matches - in such a case, I miss the lines that far, that I nearly paint the lines on the other side of the court

The reason why I started using Bashmakov was, that he has a 90 serve, so I did not have to switch between 3 different timings - so I think I will go on using him, eventhough he pretty much sucks after the last update - I don't think I can win anymore titles using him, so I'll play the SIM tour just for fun - my main focus is still directed to the MS tour and to snatching away Picachu's number 1 spot... :twisted

I don't think so, no one has the full package.
I know sometimes it's all about execution and use whatever you've got, but it's always good to improve, never too late to learn.

I wouldn't say your Bucci is "weaponless" at all - far from it. Your returns are very sharp. I think you had 14 break point chances in our sim match. And your serve held strong when you really needed it to be.

I recently had a serving epiphany after being extremely mediocre since the game's release, and it was a combination of being told this exact statement (maybe aim just a split second before the ball release) and practicing in the TS school that hit it home for me. I'm by no means an expert now, but I regularly hit the lines with mid 50's on serve.

Anyway with looking for serving tips, I think the golf man/posh bananaman is the person you should ask. Unbelievable what he can do with a 72 serve.

Tellin' ME not to downplay my game in this same post I have seen Picachu AND Norberto down their games! Both of these guys could beat me in their sleep, tied up, gagged, and in a seperate room from their XBox!
