Control Options playing with the D-Pad?

Postby o Sinna o » Tue, 26 Jan 2010 10:00

Hi again,

I got a Problem with the Game. I wanna play with the D-Pad of my Controller and my D-Pad is working. But the Game doesn't recognize the D-Pad Configuration in the Control Options.

What can I do to get the D-Pad of my Controller work with this Game?

I guess it would be easier then playing with the Analog Stick.
Can somebody help?

Or maybe you cann tell me what a Controller you use for DMT?
Because using a D-Pad makes it easier than controlling with the Analogsticks or?

For the PC I got a Xbox 360 wired Pad, a Siaxis from the PS3 and a Streetfighter 4 Fightpad USB.

But none of them work fully in DMT like I want it.

Ok maybe I expressed it a lil bit wrong. I can play with the 360 Controller but only with the Analogstick and not with the D-Pad.

So how do you Guys make it?

The xbox controller doesnt let you use the D-pad on DMT . It is really pity cause I would love to use it too.

Hurt my finger a while ago and the pad would just work better for me. But no can do.

Yes, it's possible, I did it.
I have the x360 for windows controller too and was annoyed by the poor handling with analog stick too.

you can do this replacing microsoft official driver by XBCD driver. it allows to tweak the controller configuration. I did not succeed at first time but with some time messing with it i've done it, it just needs some test & patience :)

the 'official' topic for this driver is here : http://redcl0ud.1.forumer.com/index.php?showtopic=1816

in it there is a link to xtemu where you can download it :

http://www.xtemu.com/forum/xbcd-026-file48.html

If you run windows 7 or maybe vista x64 you should face some problems with the "driver signature policy" and you will need some patch called "Driver Signature Enforcement Overrider 1.3b" that allows to install non-officially microsoft signed third party driver. (without this, last windows versions doesn't allow it at all).
You can find the details for it in this thread :
http://www.sevenforums.com/hardware-dev ... mepad.html

See the third post (from glx) wich details the steps to 'enforce' the driver signature. That is only needed if you want to install a non-signed driver on seven i think.

good luck buddy :)

Oh he, didn't i earned some coaching with this soo nice thingy ? damn i need it bad :P

Ho well, i'll do it even easyer for your poor fingers to get a break :)

Once you get XBCD installed, you can just load the profile i created for this and apply it, and you'll be set up.

Get the profile here : http://depositfiles.com/files/6jlbyq4nv (feel free to host it anywhere safer for sure)

when XBCD installed successfully you just need to get in the driver frontend (setup utility .. controller preferences .. whatever) :

And then you hit open, load the profile, and apply.

There you will get the dpad mimic X/Y axis, therefore working on dmt, and even the two triggers as buttons 7-8.

hope this helps.

PS : after this, it's easy to switch back to microsoft official driver by just selecting "update driver" in system preferences then letting the system browsing for your driver emplacement you'll get the choice between the installed drivers on your system, eg, microsoft official x360 one, or XBCD.

Yea. I was going to post another program, but it is very similar to this. In fact, Elias' looks better!! LOL. :P

Question. By the looks of this captured image, it appears to work with all controllers? I could be wrong.

Well, great find man! :tu

Ok installed it. Was a bit more tricky in W7 because fo the patch but it's working. Anyone who wants to beat me and never did should play me now. I can't do anything with the controller lol.

Man. I am not the guy. I can lose to a player that cannot control at all.

It is mental. LOL. :P

Seriously, if you want to try out the configuration with me, I am here for you man. Also, if you are down in the match, you can leave it. I do not have to win. It's just a game.
