No mistake this time, serves out to love.

I didn't see the match but Davy a set and 3bp for a 4-1 lead in the second and then Fed wins 13 games on the bounce.

Did Davydenko just collapse or was Fed playing awful?

Davydenko could have beaten anybody the way he played the first set and a half. He looked great. Then the sun went down and everyhting changed till the end of the 4th set, when his last stand kicked in

Courier just suggested to Federer that he took his bathroom break as a strategy, I can't remember him ever taking a comfort break that early in a match.

Anyway yet another GS Semi-Final.

I didn´t watch that match, but why that abrupt change when Davydenko was being so superior and then Fed started winning games (13 in a row?) :?: :?:
Never underestimate the pain of a person, because in all honesty, everyone is struggling. Some people are just better at hiding it than others.

Wow Davydenko had a sitter on the BP for the 4-1 second set lead.

Gonna be interested to see Djokovic's form next up.

I was talking with Near on MSN during the match. Near suggested that Fed needed to hit more down the middle to give Davy less angle to play with. And when Near said that Fed started to hit hard and deep down the middle.

From that point on Davy gave more short balls that gave Fed the time to setup his strokes. I think that changed it all.
Davy started missing more cause he didnt want to hit short anymore.

It's nice to see how Fed thought his way out of this match.

But I am a huge fan of Davy and it is nice to see someone hit the ball so amazing. I was very scared in the beginning of the match. Fed didn't see a solution and Davy was just striking the ball too sweet and didn't seem he was gonna let go.

Still happy Fed won.

Bad match. Fed spraying unforced errors all over the court for a set and a half. After Davy failed to take a double break in the second it was his turn to hit everything out or in the net. I admit I didn't see the 4th set though.

I watched the whole match and I thought it was a great match. It was a mental battle the entire way, and Fed won like I knew he would.

Except for the 4th set when during portions of it both were playing at a decent level, the match as a whole was very average. It was either one or the other playing decently, hardly ever both at the same time.
I would say that this was an incredibly strange match with equally weird momentum changes.
I mean Federer looks totally out of it for a set and a half, then Davydenko loses something like 13 games in a row! :?

Yep...it's a nice change from the rhythm of most ATP matches though, which tend to be very, very predictable indeed...

Definately looked like strategy time-out. He was shanking and mis-timing shots all over the place, and with the rest period he tried to break Davydenko's momentum as well as probably buying himself some time with the shadows moving across the court.
