Good win Jose! I always get a chuckle when I see 90, 90, 90, 90, 80 set up.

in the first round 3seeded players have been eliminated:fedfan,the_hoff78 and the_cooler618
The biggest surprise is that the_cooler618 lost easily by mack2300 so easily 62 61.I'm not surprised by the win of mack but by the score...

It was a rather bizarre match. It was my first ps3 match in months so I certainly didn't expect to win in the manner that I did. My female player would be considered as being "stacked" I guess, especially when compared to the_cooler's player, but this is the normal for most ws players to be on the xbox tour.

My luck ran out in R2 against pistolfred 6-7 3-6. Another close match where missed chances were crucial, I only converted 1/9 break points, he converted 2/2 and that was the difference.

Petrelli - I think it's just a matter of time before you break thru. You got all the shots.

I think you got a little discouraged after that 1st set TB. Up until that point, either one of us could've won the match. Looking forward to our next match. I'm sure once your ranking goes up, we won't meet until later rounds. :-)

I'm as suprised at you.

unfortunately i don't remember the details of the match, more or less i risk returned succesfully one time more than dj, who i felt was quite unlucky with his risks.

 Indeed. Alex played great, smart tennis and deserves the win. We all know that in 40-90 timing on your risk returns are the key. I had been in many of his games and was 0/4 on BP.....Alex however, promptly got one of each to go in each tie break. It wasn't a pretty match, it Dirty! I quickly realized that Alex's timing is better then mine so I had to keep it short and to that point an that I did. I ended up with 10 more winners and generally was holding my serve easier. So I never lost confidence, even at the last point....I was serving, Alex put a risk right in the corner. I did all well and put myself in a good position to win. Alex was simply better at the right time.

Sorry Alex, I don't enjoy such matches, such powerhiting and 1-2 punches.....but against you, I had no choice...my fingers can't keep up with your superb timing, I needed to take that away.

Congrats and win that title! or I am going to call you Safina.

I still enjoyed it, as i was usually in danger on my service games, whereas you wernt, so it was exciting to see if i could hold.

Still far from the title, but i will do everything not to be called safina dammit!

Well, if I have to give up my number one spot.....it better be to a player like yourself, someone who plays tennis and not a "video game".

Good luck in the rest of your journey!

Josenylund def. brgerflipr 7-6, 6-7, 7-6.

First set, we both held to TB, where he ran away w/ it.

2nd set - I got a few early mini-breaks and ran away w/ second set TB.

3rd set - we each had a few break points but couldn't convert. I think I had more than Jose, but he had some clutch serving . TB - back and forth, both of us holding easily. At 8-9, I served and hit a deep return that I couldn't do much with. He put it away and match was over.

Another tough battle w/ my old nemesis. An absolute pleasure playing him, he plays so smart and so clean. Looking forward to the next time. Good luck the rest of the way my friend! :-)

Josenylund def. advocateof04 6-7(5) 6-4 7-6(0)

First Set
We both held easy until 6-5 were i had 1 set point on his serve. However he held and we would go into a tiebreak. I took a early mini break to go up 4-1 but then he landed every single risk return he hit and he would land another one with me serving at 5-6 to win the set.

Second Set
Followed the same pattern.
He had 3 break points with me serving 3-4 down. I would save 2 of them with good serves. On the third he hit a good return and dominated the rally but turned defence to offense and would eventually save the bp with a forehand winner. Next game i had two bp's at 15-40. he saved one , but one the next one i hit a good return and broke him. Served it out after that.

Third Set
We held both held to love almost every game.
When tiebreak arrived i took a 3-0 lead. Got 4-0 after i hit a deep return that would set up a winner. He made errors on the remaning points so i got the tiebreak 7-0.

This match could have gone either way and tbh , to have saved that bp in the second was all luck.
