Cheers Sound of Silence,

Well 90 40 match went pretty much similar to Sim but in 90/40 i played a terrible first set shots flying everywhere and i actually felt i was gonna get thrashed so just went for things a bit in 2nd altho he broke me at 4 4 tho his serve got a bit short and i attacked it hard

Very similar story in Sim Altho i had much more opportunity to come into net and it was more a fun match than the first match , i was in the net a lot esp in 2nd, he took the first set again with some really solid play but i changed things up by attacking the net almost constantly after serve and got the mini break in the 2nd

3rd set i broke at 5 5 again by coming into net and changing things but tbh luck decided both matches at crucial points

p.s Petrelli used Bishop and i used Basmikov  I know a lotta guys dont like him but he is honestly a big step down i feel in terms of movement , and he is vulnerable if hit deep to ,

i just got my *** handed to me by Maximo 6-4 6-2, he used Nakamura, i used Tompson.
I really wasnt comfortable out there today, i served only ok, didnt move great, returned horribly, and was really poor from the baseline. On top of that Maximo served and returned really welland was really good from the baseline,
1st set-We both held until 4-4, him way more comfortably than me, i won four points on his serve up to 4-4, he had gotten to 30 like every time, and earned a break point. at 4-4 he got 15-40, he saved the first but took the second, He served it out easily to take it 6-4.
2nd Set-I held very conincingly for 1-0 to start and i thought things might be looking up, but next thing i know its 1-5 on my serve with him having broke twice easily and me hardly making a dent in his serve. I manage to hold for 2-5 and let him serve it out, i played a reasonable game and we got 30-30, but he then got 40-30 and had m.p, but i saved it. But he got another b..p and took the match with a FH down the line winner.

I'd like to congratulate Maximo on playing so well.
However unfortunatly the only positive i can take is the knowledge that i HAVE to intensify the training for Aussie Open as today i was in really poor shape

Damn, looks like I'm in for a tough final in brisbane. Maximo has improved tons in a short time, especially his defense.

CONGRATULATIONS ALEX!!!!!
Well, i have lost the brisbane final against alex, he used House and i used Nakamura, he won 7-5, 5-7, 6-4. It was very good match, with good rallies and incredibles angles, he won 100 points and me 99, the key of the match probably was to the beginning of the third set, my Nakamura was a bit tired after break alex for win the second set and alex broke me in the first game of the set. If alex wants, can give some detail more, his english is much better than mine. Well played friend

Thanks man :)

The match was good in itself, but I played sub-par on important points which is worrying (2/8 bp iirc, whereas max was much more solid 1/1) It was difficult to break because you mixed up your serves much more than in the past, hitting them on the T much more. Smart move :)

As you said, that 1st game in the 3rd set was the decider. I knew that if i got it i would be one foot into the win, but it was difficult, we had great rallies, great winners.

I didn't see I had won only one more point, shows how close our matches are now. My memory is quite bad so thats about all I remember.

Had a great match with Villaat the Medibank. His Burns beat my Lorenz 64 76.

First set he caught me cold and broke me in the opening game, I had two chances to break straight back but couldn't convert and some tough games brought up no more chances and he served out.

In the second his serve was becoming more dominant and although I could get it back his first volley put me in all sorts of trouble. I fought off 15-40 situations in two games and was just trying to hang on hoping he would get frustrated and his diminishing stamina would mean some volley misses but they never came and he stomed the tiebreak 7-0.

SIM is definately going to give the SV players a chance to bring it, I can't remember a missed volley today. Unlucky Villa missed sign up for the Open, well played.

i won the qatar exxon mobil open tournament.
Awesome match against parsons
first set 6-2, i broke at 2-2 then held and broke again with tons of lucky risk shots
2nd SET was different parson mixed up his service more and he was putting a ton of pressure on my serve, but in the tiebreak i unleashed a series of great serves and was making more returns the match ended with Parsons making a volley error :!: GREAT GAMEi won it 6-2 7-6

Yeah i didn't want a 3rd set at all lol, was pretty quickly running out of stamina. I was waiting for the volley misses to come myself but i rationed how many risk volleys i used to kind of 'save' them lol. The second set i was hitting good returns, groundstrokes, moving well etc and got break chances but you'd just stay in the rally and release some huge shots to win the point and save the danger, top drawer. I played coke just before and struggled with my 1st serve % but i serve a bit better in our match. Its strange playing with a good backhand and weak forehand but it surprises some people, a lot of people natrurally hit to the backhand side. but yeah i hope some SV players can bring down some of the bigger names hehe
