As ever with Gulbis it was hit and miss, in the second he just happened to hit more. However to be fair mentally he stuck with it and served a lot better, Federer looked like he was expecting him to cave and his mind wandered and he made some shoddy errors.

I really don't worry too much about Fed's form outside the Majors unless it was totally shocking for a sustained period, we all know Federer's form over 5 sets.
