linedancing

Postby Coolhand Texas » Fri, 30 Oct 2009 20:31

This is just to see what others opinions about linedancing are?
I have noticed more and more players using this tactic and i want to know what the community thinks about it.

This is not a bashing thread, so please do not start ripping each others heads off, this is purely to see what the communtiy thinks :D

My opinion would be no, i do not like it, i think that it distratcs the server and is a glitch. Thats just my opinion :D

Line dancing is as bad or as good as glitch stick serving which essentially causes a freezing mechanism in the returner...

The only way you can combat this is to move from left to right. I don't think any of them are fair or unfair. We are human beings and we adapt...the reason you are seeing increasing amount of players doing this is simply adaptation.

As a courtesy to the ITST, I personally have reduced mine materially as goa will confirm. I still move but its only to get into position.

Honestly ...i don´t care.
Never underestimate the pain of a person, because in all honesty, everyone is struggling. Some people are just better at hiding it than others.

To be honest, I've never even noticed an opponent doing this. I don't think it's really a distraction at all. Also, sometimes it helps to return if you move around a little before.

I don't care either...it actually strenghthens my concentration on points...as I'm completely focused on the placement of my serve rather than my opponent's return position. I think it's more noticeable when you're down...and it becomes an annoyance not because it's distracting but because it appears their taunting you with a song & dance

It bothers me because the screen follows the player.

Not doubting you, but I've never noticed that. Seems like a fair trade for the added difficulty of stick serving. :P

Nothing to add!!!!!! This is exactly the reason, why you have to move your player before your opponent serves - if you don't want to get aced every single time by guys like Baghdad, Coolhand, etc.....

I don't like it. But accidentally voted Yes  Can someone change my vote please? Rob?

Reasons:

- The screen follows the player
- I watch the ball when I serve, so it is an obvious distraction
- It looks silly and "video gamish" :P

Hey Rob, it is strange that you never noticed that, as it is really extreme sometimes - especially against those guys who use the roddick-animation, my character freezes for around a second a short moment, before my opponent hits the serve - it is just a matter of the right tactic of your oppoent then, and he could become unbreakable for you, as you have absolutely no chance to re-position your character between his serves - it is the worst glitch of the game I think, and line-dancing is the only way I personally found to deal with it...

I always thought that was a combination of the Roddick motion (which I do find freezes you) and lag. I think it's more lag than anything else, cause I usually have that problem against you, and I know you don't use the stick. But it's only ever an issue if the guy serves quickly, and doesn't give you time to position. Once the swing starts, you are free to move, which is the only time I move anyway (assuming he didn't serve quickly, and gave me a chance to get into position).

what about in real life when the returner is hopping or dancing getting ready for the return? in real life if you are standing flat footed waiting for the return most of the time you will be aced...soo i think linedancing is okay actually....
