same when someone sayed white man to me.

No African-American is the political correct name.

real ? i will believe you.
when i say afro american than i´m not political correct? ?

thanks for your help.thats new for me

No, don't listen to them, 'Afro American' is COMPLETELY politically correct. I'm not joking with you, honestly 'Afro American' is fine. Don't worry about being politically correct, though....in my eyes, 'African American' is retarded- how many 'African Americans' are actually from Africa!!??? Not a whole lot. Nobody calls me 'Irish American' because my great grandparents were from Ireland, do they?

To me, 'Black' or 'White' or 'Brown' or whatever is the best way to put it. There's nothing offensive about recognizing the color of somebody's skin.

Yes. This is another delicate topic. I talk about diversity every semester with my Transition 2 Kean class. I ask them what do you rather others to call you. Most say, either Black American or African American.

In fact, if you look at most of the documents in United States, you will not see Afro-American on them. It will either say the two ethnic groups that I already mentioned.

You rarely see Afro-American, because most people find that offensive (as what my 20+ university class experiences dictate; purely anedoctal of course). :D

and i spoke with my class from crank university ,and they spoke in that way that afro amercian is absolutly political correct .
so you have to accept "" afro (african) amercian ; coz its the political correct name for this race.
you have a problem with that??

GO TO THE UNO AND ASK THEM

WITH saying AFRO AMERICANS I´M ABSOLUTLY CORRECT -

some find it offend when they called "white man" from other people
but they have that to accept coz this also THE POLITICAL correct name
HOPE THIS DISCUSS HAD NOW A END

BTW: i have some good friends where are black or mixed (AFRO AMERICAN +WHITE)
they say the same ,

She has nothing to aim for really (she is the best on tour, in my opinion). The best way for her is to go straight up the ranking! :)

I agree. The WTA is of a very lame standard.
To that regard, 39 year old Kimiko Date has now reached a final in Korea. Along the way- she came back from a set and 5-2 down to defeat Kleybanova. In the quarters she took out Hantuchova 6-4 in the third. In the semis she defeated Kirilenko in another three setter. She will most probably go on and take the title. If she does win it, she will have set the record for the oldest ever winner of a WTA singles tournament.

So what does this say about the current standard of womens tennis when an almost 40 year old can advance this far in a tourney? Sure, give Date credit for her performances, but let's be real, women's tennis has absolutely no real depth to it.

Billie Jean King is actually the oldest winner of a WTA singles tournament.

You're right. I just checked and saw that King had won a tournament back in '83 when she was over 39 years of age.

So Kimiko Date went on to win that tourney that I had mentioned previously.
That win slots her into 2nd in the all-time list of oldest ever WTA singles winners.

-Billie Jean King, 39 years, 7 months, 23 days (1983 Birmingham).

-Kimiko Date Krumm, 39 years (2009 Seoul).

-Martina Navratilova, 37 years, 4 months, 2 days (1994 Paris Indoors).

-Margaret Court, 34 years, 4 months, 26 days (1976 Melbourne).

I wish somebody would wire Martina's jaw shut.

She is the worst tennis commentator of all time, next to The King, Justin Grimeyslob. She just never shuts up, EVER, she is such a self-important windbag, she makes me wanna barf...anybody else with me? Good god I'm glad she'll never reproduce.
