I've played one guy on the WT a few times over the last week who dropshots constantly as the first shot after his serve...
His players name started with M and sounded hispanic, can't remember exactly, and he had NO orange or red stats.
But anyways, he was a slow learner as he was constantly pulling my VOLLEY player in to the net. :D

I wish more people would hit drop shots!

i find if you come up against a good net player your boned if they get your dropshot. i find they ae only effective playing against a clay court guy who is back with the line judges lol.

I really only use drop shots on short balls anyway when the opponent is expecting an aggressive shot. If I have a lot of time to execute, I just hold Y and aim for a corner.

I now use R2+L2 and the stick up and down to dropshot and my god its effective. If you time it good it just drops over, but you see im still a TS3 learner and this is the only kind of risk i make ;) apart from R2+L2 slice :D

I use the stick as well and I can have some nasty droppers. If you use the stick you don't need to use L2 and/or R2 though - I'm pretty sure it doesn't have any effect.

drop shots work best when your opponent hits a very short angled bh....you can cut it off early and drop it right in the middle of the court...its gets them everytime

I use them frequently now because ive got better at them. I practice them alot considering i hardly risk only slice and dropshot so i need something :P

well try that...i was working on that play all weekend...because joesixtoe pulls me off the court way too many times in our matches and i thought to myself there has got to be some way to counter that....and i found a way...it works very well

lol....ha ha okay...well when hitting the ball against a good cross courter you want to hit the ball more at their body rather than trying to go for the lines...for instance when someone says hit it to their forehand side dont just cross court it to the left side....literally try to aim it right in the forehand area and deep because too much angle will give a good player too much court to work with....the less court your opponent has to work with the better you will do...im currently working on this too..because i always just try to go for lines...

look at mine and soundofsilences exhibition, i win a point with the absolute crappest dropshot ever. The thing is though it was the first dropshot i'd used, he was off balance, and stamina well in the red as was a long rally. So its not neccesarily how good the shot is, rather when you use it.

I attempted dropshots using the Y button before and they ended up being lobs - I was mortified  If I ever attempt a dropshot now, which is rare, I go with the stick.
