As you may or may not know, "cheesy" is a term used to describe a style of play that most players consider to be unfair. The style takes advantage of the games limitations, making it completely unrealistic compared to real life tennis. Examples of this would be: risk slice returning from inside the baseline, serving from the far corners (tramlines), lobbing returns, drop shot returns, among other things.
That said, there are universal "unwritten" rules concerning "cheesy" play. We've never had to make firm rules because the ITST community respects their existence. They involve playing fairly & not using the known "cheesy" tactics that lessen this game.

Example, two players, Player A vs. Player B.
Player A to serve:
A: Service
B: Return
A: short slice
I guess it is...

Question: Is it cheesy to play a very deep slice (X) shot after a service? Don t understand it wrong, i don t mean a slice return!!!

B: Return
A: short slice

Andymachine wrote:I agree it isnt the most realistic shot in the book Sound , but i have seen the top players all use it in matches that i have played against them, especially when they are down or at 5 all or especially in tie breaks and i mean all of the players either that or risk returns , which i use a lot but ive always been up front about the fact that i use risk a lot on returns
I played a player in a recent quarter final that didnt use a risk slice until the first point of the tiebreak then did it on each serve i hit, it was very frustrating
