Soderling Gonzalez could go very long as they are both playing fantastic.

Then Fed will ease past Del Potro like he did in Australia and win the title against a jaded oponent, it's destiny that the player with the most beautiful game of all time adds the French to his resume.

I don;t know , I think it will be a great loss , kind of like when Henin left ,just a bunch of power hitters and overly defensive players left in the tour .

Hopefully Gonzalez can take over were Roger left off but he is aging too , Del Potro is meh , Nadal without a good oponent like Rog is going to be like Serena is now , dominating and destroying almost everyone for a few years, I would like to see Wawrinka step up but I think he is starting to age too , there is really not a lot of interesting to watch young tennis players out there.

Of course if I missed anyone please let me know , Murray is meh moonball gallore , Safin is gone , I don't know , hopefully Roger will stick around for a couple of more years at least to make sure Nadal has a hard time trying to catch up to his records.

that would be nice...he says he hopes to play another 3 to 4 years....but IMO if he beats sampras record this year---he will not be back for next year...nadal has too many good hardcourt players in his way right now...and nadal is extremely fatigued at the moment---hats off to roger for playing so much tennis at such a high level and never showing signs of fatigue except for last year---you know the guy has got to be exhausted

I t may be tough to stay motivated especially if he breaks the record before the baby comes, saying that Roger still loves tennis and has said may times that he would like to play 2012 Olympics at Wimbledon.

If he wins I expect him to step up this year to try and finish Number 1, but then play a heavily depleted schedule next year.

i think it would be cool if all of the top ATP players came to watch the final...then when Fed wins they should all give him a standing Ovation and show their respect for this guy...he really deserves it!!! you only see this happen maybe once every 25-30yrs or so....Roger has definitely made tennis more popular around the globe---and made everyone around him better...THANK YOU ROGER

There is massive pressure on Federer to win this now, everyone is looking to him to see it through. He admitted today he was very nervous.

This is my only worry for him but great players embrace these moments and I expect Roger to do the same.

I think Pete will be at wimby if Fed's going for 15, sort of to see his record go. Wouldn't it be ironic if Fed wins the french then loses in 1st round of wimbledon to Karlovic or something!

I think Fed will play until he's outside the top 10. If thats at 30 or 35 i dont think he'l care. But his ego is too big for him to take slipping down the rankings and being a shadow of his former self.

I dont think there is many out there who can take feds mantle. Tsonga is 24, his middle aged for a tennis player really, only has about 4 years left with his injuries. rafa has till about 26 tops with his playing style, Murray is 22? has some time left. Others like Ancic and Roddick, Blake etc are all in their mid-late 20's. The youngest is del potro. It reamins to be seen what players Tomic, Dimitrov, Harrison etc turn into.

Too hard to tell. Voted Fed and Gonzo in the finals though.
