you can see both sides of the argument,
On the one hand one might say that it's crazy to say that Federer is washed up and just a spent force.
He's won the Aussie Open this year which by itself would represent an enormously successful season for most of the other top pro's. He's also reached the finals of Madrid and Halle and a QF at the French.
The flip side of the above is that by his standards that represents a rather lean winning return.
From 2004-2007 he won a total of 42 titles.
From 2008 up to present he's won 9 titles.
That is a significant drop-off and whatever the reasons(age, motivation perhaps not there for the 'lesser' titles, whatever) it would indicate that Fed's prime years are in the past.
I still believe though that in the matches over the best of five sets(apart perhaps from clay) he's still the guy to beat.
