ITST NewsTopSpin 2K25 Wimbledon Qualifying tournament Written by Cinemartic 18 Jun'24 - 07:31
ITST introduces qualifying tournaments again starting with 2024 Singles Wimbledon. Grand Slam Qualifying Tournament
As the numbers grow incessantly for the Singles edition of Wimbledon, we have decided it would be fairer to give an opportunity to reach the main draw to as many people as possible. For that reason, we have changed slightly its format, now allowing maximum 128 players for the qualifying tournament. The format is now :
W I M B L E D O N 2 0 2 4 :
96 players directly qualified from ranking (with points from Roland Garros and Lexus Surbiton Trophy)
32 spots awarded through a qualifying tournament featuring 128 players maximum. 2 wins are needed to make it to the Wimbledon draw for the people starting from R128, 1 win is needed for people starting in R64. The goal for each player is to reach R32 (the rest will be filled as no match).
The players not meeting the cut for Wimbledon (first 96 in the Singles ranking) have to sign up to this qualifying tournament. Its draw is released Tuesday the week before the start of Wimbledon (so the 25th of June). The deadlines of the qualifying rounds (three days for round one, three days for round two until sunday) will be tight and there will be absolutely no extensions. The sign ups are already open :

As the points awarded from Roland Garros and the challenger will surely create situations with equal rankings, we will specify in another post who is the last to get directly in the main draw without having to play the qualifying as soon as we get the first elements of ranking. Nevertheless, people who won't have a ranking after RG and the challenger, or people eliminated early in these tournaments are already greatly encouraged to sign up in priority.
