Inter Top Spin Tour Rules
(select your preferred language)
To be able to participate in the ITST you will have to take the following rules into account:
Part I: Top Spin 3 Specific Rules
We currently offer three separate tours for Top Spin 3 - Men's Singles (MS), Women's Singles (WS), and Men's Singles Sim (MSS). Please read the rules below for each tour that you participate in.
-- All Top Spin 3 Tours (MS, WS, MSS)
- When serving, you must stand in the default position or closer to the center.
- When returning serves, you must stand behind the baseline.
- You must use a created character - it is not allowed to use one of the pros from the game.
- Each tour has it's own rules regarding the character's attributes. If you don't have a character with the allowed specs, you can create one in less than five minutes. To learn how, please read this forum post: CLICK.
-- Men's Singles and Women's Singles (MS, WS)
- Created characters must have a minimum of 40 XP and a maximum of 90 XP on each attribute.
-- Men's Singles Sim (MSS)
The SIM tour was created to give players the option for more realism in the Top Spin 3 gameplay. In our SIM tour for Top Spin 3 you must choose a character from the 2010 ITST TS3 Sim Roster. A PDF detailing the stats of all 21 characters can be downloaded here: 2010 ITST Sim Roster pdf
When creating your character, please use the following guidelines:
- The height of your created character must be exactly as listed.
- The weight of your character must fall within the stated range.
- The first initial and last name of your character must be exactly as shown.
- The forehand and backhand numbers (only) are interchangeable.
- There are no restrictions with regard to the stroke and serve animation.
- Your created character may be left-handed or right-handed.
Part II: General ITST Rules
1.) Before you can play in one of our tournaments, it is required that you register yourself as a member of the ITST first. You can only register one account and that is the only account you can play with on the ITST, unless Management directs otherwise. Then when a tournament opens for registration, you need to sign up for it seperately. You are not automatically entered for a tournament.
2.) The draw for a tournament is normally made on Sunday evening, or maybe earlier when the tournament has been filled completely. When you know who to play against please send a Private Message to your opponent as soon as possible to arrange a time and date for your match to be played . If the ITST site Private Messaging system is offline for any reason, you may send your opponent an email instead but you must send a copy of that email to the Tournament Host also, so he knows you've been in touch with your opponent. When you send a Private Message this is not necessary (and not even possible) since the Tournament Host has access to the Private Messages sent.
If your opponent doesn't respond to the messages you sent, send another one. If he still doesn't respond, please notify the Tournament Host of the situation. The ITST Hosts cannot check messages sent through Playstation Network, Xbox Live, or msn, so you are urged to only use the ITST Private Messaging system, so all contact between you and your opponent can be properly monitored. If you do contact your opponent through other means, ensure that a Private Message has also been sent through the ITST site.
3.) You're obliged to play on the court that has been dedicated to the tournament. The court specified for each tournament will be listed on the tournament page. Please play your matches on this specific court. If your opponent only wants to play on another court, please notify the Tournament Host. It doesn't matter which player hosts the game. You can decide this with your opponent.
4.) If you're playing a match and you have a lot of lag problems, please do not quit the match but play until the end and notify the Tournament Host of your problems after the game.
5.) Every tournament round has a deadline. This means that on the day of the deadline, it is the last day to get your match played in that specific round. If you do not play by the deadline you will most likely be put out of the tournament, unless you didn't get a response from your opponent. Then you'll most likely be handed a Walkover by the Tournament Host. Deadlines are deadlines and they are there for a reason, be sure you stick to them. If your opponent has not shown up on the time you both agreed to, please inform the Tournament Host. They will decide on the appropriate course of action.
6.) The winner has to report the match score to the tournament director. This is done by going to the tournament page and clicking on the link to report results there. Please don't send in fake results as we will ban you from the Tour if we find out about it.
7.) Tournaments will be played by the best of 3 sets principle, with each set made up of 6 games. The exceptions are the Grand Slam tournaments, which will be best of 5 sets throughout the tournament.
8.) When 2 tournaments of the same Tour start on the same date, you can only register for one of them! When another tournament starts for example a week after tournament 1, you are allowed to play in both tournaments. You can sign up for 1 tournament of each Tour, so this means that it is possible to play in 3 tournaments starting on the same date, when they are all seperate Tours (Regular, SIM, Female).
9.) Please do not register for a tournament if you aren't available for play during a specific round. If you do not play your match, you will get no points whatsoever from that tournament. It doesn’t matter what round you were in!
10.) Many different members have different opinions about what exactly is a cheesy tactic. If the entire community finds a tactic cheesy though we will ask every member to refrain from using this tactic in the future. If you want to read more about these tactics check out this forum post: CLICK. If you wonder if one of your tactics is considered cheesy or not the forum is again the place to be. Our members there are more then willing to answer your questions. 11.) Our community is a community where young and old gather to have fun. Thats why we have some rules in effect concerning behaviour on the forum or towards other members. Please read these rules here: CLICK.
12.) You are NOT allowed to have more than one account with ITST. If you attempt to play the tour with more than one account, you will be banned from the site.
13.) If you encounter someone who breaks one of the rules stated above please do not quit the match immediatly. Some cheesy shots can be played by your opponent by accident. If your opponent keeps breaking the rule please quit the match and contact your opponent about it directly. Try to start the match again from the point where your opponent did a wrong shot. If your opponent does not quit with breaking the rules you can quit the match and contact the host about it. He will make a decision about the match then.
14.) Please do not submit a result of an unfinished match. If your opponent left in the middle of the match or your opponent does not stop breaking the rules you still need to contact the host of the tournament. He will then make a decision about the match.
15.) ITST Hosts are volunteers and are very important for the daily progress of the site. They should be treated with the respect they deserve. Insults towards ITST Hosts will not be tolerated.
16.) If you have made a donation to ITST and you get banned from the site because you violated our rules, the ITST is not obliged to pay back the donation you have made.
17.) If you have any questions about any of the rules, please feel free to post them on our forum. Our members and staff are always happy to help new members. |
