At a second thought, i wouldn't even call Murray a counterpuncher. All he did yesterday was to wait for Federer to make mistakes... This kind of specimens are to disappear from sports. He practically refused tennis. PS: In every match you can see this thing. He refuses tennis...

I think it became evident watching the matches today that the wind probably had a factor in how Murray was playing Federer, and we shouldn't let this be a decider in how we like/dislike the way he plays.

I generally don't like the "counterpunch" style but the way in which Murray is able to interpret matches, at least lately, is incredible and i sinceraly find his way to play quite entertaining: after Federer he's my favourite player between the actual top10 players.

Ditto. Also, I do not like his attitude really. Yet, if I had to pick Djokovic or Murray, I would pick Murray.

I think that both nadal and murray are super-boring...if similar players continue to dominate, the popularity of tennis is going to decrease soon...

I think that the ATP tour is now anybody's turf now. That makes it more interesting.

It's all relative. I believe the game has evolved, not 'gotten boring'. We could be watching 70's style serve and volleyers hit 75 mph slice serves and play 3-shot points, over and over and over. Not too exciting to me. There's always been people like you in tennis who feel the game's best days are behind him and that the game is devolving into some slug-fest. People have been saying this for a looooonng time. Players now are more fit, more consistent, more powerful, and every bit as talented. There's this magic button ('Power', usually on the front or top of your TV) on your TV that lets you block out all the boring tennis nowadays. It's pretty sweet.

I certainly don't think Nadal is going to cause the popularity of tennis to decrease. Half the kids I see today use his racquet and dress like him - I like Federer or Sampras much better, but I don't see many kids trying to be them.

ok, maybe...but I loved to watch federer play, I could really enjoy his tennis...although he was never my favourite player...
I think that ATP needs more players like safin..just to spice up things a bit
